Incredible set! Unbelievably sharp and retain an edge like only carbon can. Does take a little care. Have to oil occasionally in the beginning until a patina forms. Only minor complaint is the rivets stick out a little bit past the wood which seems unfinished. Overall the best knives I have ever used.

Touted as one of the premier-quality knives worldwide, the cutting abilities of the Zwilling Henckels Kramer knives are truly admirable - and boy do they cut fast and clean. Our knife set was purchased for our constant everyday home cooking needs. The first disappointment was with the lack of quality of our main Chef's Knife - something not expected at this price point. Extending through some 25mm (1-in) by the handle's rear edge, the knife came with its carbon steel frame protruding about 1 mm above the wood handle's edge where they clearly did not use the properly sized African Blackwood for the handle and it is therefor not flush and smooth where the hand supports the knife. Additionally, the brass rivets were not sufficiently sanded or finished flush to the edge surface of the wood handle and they too have protruding edges.

The most concerning issue comes with the everyday use of the knives which - because of its straight carbon steel blades, cannot and will not keep the new-look for more than the first few seconds of use since these carbon steel blades rust and stain immediately throughout the entire blade. Even when promptly washing, drying and rubbing oil, the rust stains, blotches and poor looks become a permanent part of your knife set which was unacceptable to us prompting the return of our purchase.

The Good
- Extremely sharp and razor-like cutting edge
- Truly slices and dices magically through all your cooking tasks
- Beautiful set and display with its professional-looking Upright Magnetic Knife Block (see below)
The Bad
- Unexpected lack of quality and finish on our Chef's knife - unacceptable in a "quality product" of this category
- Beautiful looks vanish immediately upon first use of any of the knives with rust stains and blotches covering the blades anywhere they've had contact with moisture
