5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Wonderful Witty Intelligent Happy funny sad and just GREAT
These are the essays Mr. Scheiffer says at the end of his program. They are ad libbed for the most part. They are witty, and oh so beautiful. Things about America, rural, urban... things about race, sports, media, just everything. It is the way he has ended his program for about five years when he did it once for someone. This will be #1. No matter where you stand...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money!!
This book is a compilation of arrogant opinions that are based on nothing more than the authors limited view of the world. 1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money!!, November 20, 2011
This book is a compilation of arrogant opinions that are based on nothing more than the authors limited view of the world. It is plainly obvious that Mr Schieffer has no respect for journalism or the principles of fairness and truth. Although some of these essays are quaint and "uplifting", if you look at the facts he is way off the mark. If you want to read a delusional account of our recent history, then this is it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst book I ever read, November 20, 2011
By
Roger (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bob Schieffer's America (Hardcover)
Bob Schieffer's views are so skewed that this book was torture. Perhaps his work as a journalist for CBS has rendered him incapable of thinking clearly. Whatever the reason, his book is awful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not my America, November 20, 2011
This review is from: Bob Schieffer's America (Hardcover)
How about the American who stands for liberty, Schieffer? Author is a fraud and I would not recommend purchasing his book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money, November 20, 2011
Mr. Schieffer's new book is not worth the time or money. Some people seem to just write books these days because they have nothing better to do. Perhaps Bob thinks he's more important than he is. The book is sadly rigid and constrained, and is deeply reflective of Bob's archaic "Face the Nation" show on CBS. He simply espouses establishment viewpoints, and has nothing insightful to say. Save your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars America - a lamestream media view, this is not my America, November 20, 2011
Sadly, another example that "investigative journalisum" does not exist anywhere in the biased offerings of main stream media. Amazon and others have many great books on freedom and liberty, what "America" is really all about, that I suggest people spend their hard earned dollars somewhere else.
Wake up people, its time to really work on getting our country back, lets reafirm our responsibility and get our shoulder behind the wheel, forget the likes of Schieffer and C_BS!

1.0 out of 5 stars Biased, November 20, 2011
The book was professionally written and produced, but it just seemed too biased throughout the whole book. The author needs to consider talking to more sources before he comes to conclusions.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just awful, November 20, 2011
This book is just painful from beginning to end, Bob is arguably the worst "reporter" on TV, and this book truly reveals the arrogance and stupidity of this man.

1.0 out of 5 stars An elitist who writes as if he is aware of a truth that no one else is, November 20, 2011
His opinions are reflective of the consanguinity shared by the media and government. He attempts to fill your head with propaganda while giving the reader a misleading account of history.

1.0 out of 5 stars Blah Blah Blah..., November 20, 2011
I can't believe that I actually read this book and the truth is I couldn't finish it.. This man is soo full of himself. What he really loves about America is his place in it. How he see's it, the telling of it is just an embellishment of himself. Of course what he doesn't see is now that he has become such an insider, his view has been maligned by the system. He's lost his journalist edge. To actually see where we are, as a country, he would have to suddenly wake-up, step out of his comfy world and admit to his own wayward path. What he knows about America could fit on the head of a pin! Don't bother..
