From the Inside Flap

One day, Bob and Joe were watching all their friends around the pond. Arnold the Alligator was fishing. Zebbie the Zebra was planting carrots in his garden. Harry the Grasshopper was helping Mookie the Mosquito clean up around his house. Jersey the Cow was exercising to get ready for the next Bob and Joe race. Sammy the Squirrel was doing what he does best, collecting acorns.
Seeing all their friends made the racing turtles feel pretty happy. They had so many good friends who lived around the pond. They began to wonder if they could find more friends beyond the pond. Maybe ones who like to race as much as they did.
Bob and Joe decided to go exploring for some more friends. They each put on a clean Bob and Joe shirt and packed a bag full of carrots and apples.

More About the Author

Thank you for visiting my page. I have been creating children's books ever since my first child was born 10 years ago, only I didn't realize the bedtime stories I was creating would become actual books for others to enjoy. One favorite story centered around two twin turtle brothers named Bob and Joe.

I have easily told my children over 100 "Bob and Joe" stories in the last 10 years. It is, by far, their favorite story! In fact, it was my children who inspired me to put Bob and Joe on paper. They thought other kids would enjoy the stories as much as they did. They were right!

I think Bob and Joe resonate so well with children because the characters love to help each other, as much as they love to race around. Kids seem to identify with this concept because all kids love to help, when given the chance, and run around in races.

The lessons in friendship and fair play are subtle. By the end of the story, the child walks away having learned something really important, without having it pushed on them.

So there is my story about how Bob and Joe came to be. I hope your children enjoy the Bob and Joe stories!
