This book captures the essence of Bobbi Brown - classic style - truthful - great advice - well written - wonderful tips and suggestions that anyone can adapt to their current lifestyle. Bobbi is the most down to earth beaty mogul in the business. Her makeup, just like her sense of style and her attitude is for real people who lead busy lives. This book is great as it showcases women from all walks of life and all ethnicities. The advice and life stories that are featured in this book come from real women who have experienced much in their lives - You can learn a lot from reading their individual stories. I have been a Bobbi Brown fan since the beginning of her career - I have always been more than satisfied with her products and she remains true to her original theories on makeup and how to lead a full and satisfied life. I think anyone looking for inspiration and personal motivation about life, not just makeup would benefit from reading this book. It is a great reference book as well - you won't want to share this with anyone - unless you buy them their own copy. This is one of Bobbi's best books to date.

Sit back, grab yourself a nice cup of green tea or a glass of wine and take in all of the inspiring stories as well as wonderful makeup tips. You'll end up feeling refreshed and inspired at the same time and will wish Bobbi was your next door neighbor or your best friend -

I was disappointed to find that quite a few of the women in the book were the same ones that were on Bobbi's Pretty Powerful page of her Web site. At least there every product used was specifically identified. Not so in the book -- there are no samples of the shades used on each model. Instead, we are given descriptions such as "I kept lips and cheeks soft with natural shades of pink."

I have all of Bobbi's previous books, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, this one isn't up to par with the rest of her collection.

I love Bobbi Brown. I love her products. I have enjoyed her other books. I had high expectations for Pretty Powerful. But I was very disappointed. It is just a rehash of all her other books. There isn't much new in it. Maybe I just didn't get it, but I think the book is very bland and certainly wasn't what I expected.
