Ready to break your plastic water bottle habit but not quite sold on straight municipal tap? Filter your own bottled water with this unique and patented set of six Bobble Water Bottles. An active carbon filter eliminates toxins and harmful chemicals such as chlorine and other organic contaminants from the water as you sip. The filter itself lasts for about two months, or at least 300 fills, and is both replaceable and recyclable through the Bobble Recycling Program. What's more, the bottles are made entirely of recycled FDA-approved PET that is free of BPA, PVC, and Phthalates and is 100 percent recyclable in most areas.

BPA-free and made of recycled materials, the Bobble removes chlorine and other organic contaminants from your drinking water.

The Bobble uses active carbon filter technology to remove unwanted contaminants from your drinking water so it meets the standards of NSF International Standard 42, the standard that governs the quality of public and private drinking water. How it works is simple, really: as you sip, the water passes over the carbon filter where the negative ions of the contaminants are drawn to, and captured by, carbon granules. The result? Filtered water free of chlorine and other common organic contaminants--with no resulting plastic water bottle waste.

Features:

  • Replaceable active carbon filter removes chlorine and organic contaminants as you sip
  • Filter is recyclable through the Bobble Recycling Program
  • Bottle is made of recycled, FDA-approved PET that is BPA-free, PVC-free, and free of Phthalates
  • Bottle is 100 percent recyclable in most areas
  • Filtered water meets the standards for NSF International Standard 42
  • Filter lasts through at least 300 fills; recommended use time of two months
  • Manufactured in the U.S.A.

Bobble filters are replaceable and recyclable through Bobble's Filter Recycling Program.

About Bobble
Americans spend $17 billion a year on bottled water. The costs are not limited to our wallets, either; each year, nearly 1.5 million barrels of oil are used to make plastic water bottles. Most of these bottles are casually discarded. They end up in our landfills, our oceans, and littering our sidewalks.

The folks at Bobble were intrigued by this challenge. They have decades of experience solving design and engineering concerns--and they like bottled water. They didn't think the solution was to stop drinking it, so they approached the problem like a complex engineering puzzle that demanded a simple, intuitive answer.

Bobble's mission was to satisfy the world's desire for portable water while minimizing the considerable costs bottled water imposes on ourselves and our environment. What they came up with is a reimagining of the water bottle--the Water Bobble. Made from recycled materials and recyclable itself, Bobble makes water better by filtering out chlorine and contaminants, basically putting a water treatment facility right in the palm of your hands. Bobble filters as you sip, giving you clean, water-bottle quality water right from the tap.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great water, but noisy May 24, 2011
It's a water bottle. I've had mine for 6+ months and does the job of giving me great tasting water. However it's noisy. after you take a drink as such it creates a vacuum in the bottle. When the bottle sucks air back in it produces a 'whistling' noise. It's not so loud it disturbs anyone around me, at least I've never hand anyone say so, but it bugs me a bit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product, could use a little refining June 17, 2010

The Bobble does a good job of filtering out unpleasant tap-water tastes, but all of the bottles I purchased (6-pack)had issues with the mouthpiece closing while trying to drink out of it. Otherwise, this would be a great product!

2.0 out of 5 stars Water Bottle Review August 28, 2010

Concept is great and water taste good. Biggest drawback is the filters are hard to suck from to get the water into your mouth. Even is you squeeze the water bottle to help, it's still hard!!! Fix this problem and I would rate it 5 stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Okay at first, then becomes a nuisance September 17, 2012
By Anshul
So I bought this water bottle thinking it had filter and everything and looked cool. After a few days of use I noticed that the cap (which you pull open and drink from, similar to other bicycle bottles), becomes slippery and hard to pull open (the standard mechanism on most bicycle bottles similar to this one, have rubber caps to drink from, and they're shaped well, and they work). This one's plastic. And the design is such that you'll need really dry hands and dry cap to pull it open with much force. So functionality wise - Fail!
Another thing, if you tilt it and shake it a bit, water leaks into the covering cap. Once you open that - voila! You have water on your pants and chair! Maybe the filter works, I don't know, but I've stopped using this one!

2.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of room for improvement May 1, 2012
I like my new Bobble and use it every day, but overall it's pretty flawed. The shape is really nice, and it feels good to drink from. The plastic is pretty soft, but drinking from it in large quantities at a time have caused a couple of dents/creases in the side. When the cap is opened all the way, a whoooole bunch of air comes along with the water you're drinking. There's a trick to getting it to flow only water and I dunno if it's with only mine or what, but it works much better if you only open the cap halfway. This can be pretty cumbersome if you're on a treadmill or multitasking, though. I can get three big sips and then I have to wait for it to refill with some air; it goes faster if you squeeze it.

Despite everything wrong with it, in the right situations it serves its purpose, and the water tastes pretty great coming from it. That being said I'll probably try the Rubbermaid filtered water bottle next.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great alternative to bottled water July 17, 2011

My wife brought home a Bobble about a year ago and since then, I've been hooked. Rather than spend $1 each morning on the way to the subway for a small bottle of water, I now fill up my Bobble the night before and have a cold bottle of clean water for mere pennies. My two-year old son won't leave the house without his either. The six different colors are also great for telling each other's bottle apart (my wife, my son, and I each stake claim to two). The plastic will crease if you squeeze too hard, but the bottles have been dropped repeatedly and hold up well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bobble water bottle March 6, 2012

These bottles have a great shape and fit nicely in your hand. The problem is that you really need to work hard to get the water through the filter to drink! I find I am taking much longer to drink the entire bottle.
