5.0 out of 5 stars Bobbsey Twins Remain Readworthy

1.0 out of 5 stars Too out of date`

When I was five, my grandmother would not allow me to check out a Bobbsey Twins book unless I also checked out one by Thornton W. Burgess, whose work I loathed then and still loathe. But I find the Bobbsey Twins still worth reading on those days when nothing else interests me. This is what Parents Magazine used to call "good of kind." These days, youngsters are probably bored stiff by these books, because their choices are so much wider. But 67-year-olds like me still like old-fashioned books.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book (series) is good for beginning readers. It is cute, old fashioned, with good values. A nice bedtime story for younger children.

This sort of stereotype is truly out of place in the year 2004,and not something I would want kids to be exposed to.
