I would recommend this book to kids who love to learn about growing up and baseball. This is a great book for ages 9-13. Especially kids who absaloutly love baseball.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bobby Baseball (Paperback)
I am reading the realistic fiction book called Bobby Basball written by Robert Kimmel Smith.
Bobby Baseball is about a boy named Bobby who was anxious all winter to play for his dad's team the Eagles. He wants to be a pitcher and be in the hall of fame. When it is finally baseball season he asked his dad to pick him but his dad might not. Bobby brother tells him that Bobby not might want to be on his dad's team because if he does something wrong his still his coach and has to tell him even if he yells. Bobby's dad tells him that if he gets in trouble and tells him to run there is no arguing. You'll have to read the book to find out if Bobby gets on his dad's team or someone else's. You will also find out what he does in his games.
I thought this book is very good for people who love baseball like myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Baseball Player Has Bad Temper, December 6, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bobby Baseball (Paperback)
If you like baseball you should read Bobby Baseball. This book is realistic fiction. Bobby Ellis is 10 years old, and he has a bad temper. In this book, Bobby gets in trouble by his bad temper. This story takes place at Bobby's home and at a baseball field.

If you like some happy parts, and some sad parts those are other reasons you should read Bobby Baseball. Here is a part I personally like. I liked when Bobby pitched a game and won. I didn't like that Robert K. Smith didn't give a lot of detail about the setting. I also didn't like that the Hawks lost in the playoffs. Those are some parts in the story.

All around this book is really good. Here's another part most people will probably like. Bobby pitched and only let up 1 run. I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in baseball. I think this book is appropriate for ages 8-12.

I am a 20-year-old university student, and about 10 years ago, this was my favourite book! I read it 5 or 6 times and I'm glad that kids are still enjoying it today. If you're a kid who likes baseball, you've got to read this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars BoBBy BaseBall, December 10, 2001
This review is from: Bobby Baseball (Paperback)
Bobby Baseball is an incredible book. Its about a boy who loves baseball so much he calls himself Bobby Baseball. Bobby wants to become a major league pitcher, but he has to start at his own Mustang league. The middle of the book is very good and it makes it so you won't want to stop reading. The ending is very strange and you will need to make up your own opinion if its good or not!

5.0 out of 5 stars Helped my son overcome his fear of reading., June 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Bobby Baseball (Paperback)
My son was diagnosed with dislyxia and really hated to read because it was so difficult. He got Bobby Baseball through the taping service and he listened to the book over and over and over. He so loved the book that we bought it for him. This book lead him to read other books about kids and baseball, but it will always have a place in my heart as the first book that he read all the way through by himself. (He has probably memorized it by now!)
