Product Description

Compact light weight USB-to-Wired-Internet Adapter for Android tablets that support Ethernet. Works "Plug-N-Play" with Android versions 3.2 and up. There is no installation procedure, and no need to install drivers. Just plug it in to your Android tablet for wired internet access. Requires a full size USB port on your tablet or on your tablet's docking station. Also works with Micro-OTG or Mini-OTG ports by adding BobjGear OTG adapter cable. Works with Toshiba THRiVE dock and ASUS Transformer keyboard dock. Works with NetBooks, Notebooks, UltraBooks, MacBook Air Lion and Mountain Lion 10.6 or above. Works with Nexus 7 and 10 1st generation (Not Nexus 7 II). Works with Windows 8 "x86" processors (Intel and AMD). Will not work with Windows 8 RT, (i.e. Microsoft Surface type Tablet.) Works with Samsung's new PRO line of Android Tablets, Tab PRO and Note PRO. All other models of Samsung Tablets DO NOT support this Ethernet adapter. Works with Android "Stick Computers" such as MK802, MK808 and UG802. Some Sticks may need a powered USB hub. Compliant with USB Standards 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. This adapter is USB powered; no external power needed. Drivers included for other than Android. RoSH, CE, FCC compliant. EXCEPTIONS: This adapter does not work with Android Phones. This Adapter will not work if the tablet manufacturers have not included an Ethernet (wired internet) capability in their version of the Android Operating System. For this reason, the following ANDROID tablets can not use this adapter: Nexus 7-II, Samsung Tablets (except PRO series), ACER, Lenovo, Sony, Coby-Kyros. Toshiba models "Thrive7", AT200" (ExciteLE) will not work with this adapter. This adapter will not work with Windows 8 "RT" Version. This adapter will not "Enable" a tablet that is not configured to work with Ethernet. If you are uncertain if your tablet supports Ethernet, please consult your manufacturer or your applicable web forum.

I had a sudden need to have wired Ethernet on my ASUS Prime with the keyboard, so I went looking and found this, just recently released. Received it quickly and was skeptical about no software or setup. Followed the instructions, and naturally it didn't work. Went to settings, and saw the Ethernet option. If it was there before, I never saw it. Turned it on, brought up a browser and started surfing. Like the title says - it just works. It works great at a great price...

I bought this cord because I have a Macbook Air, and was too cheap to buy the Apple adapter. It worked perfectly without drivers on OS X Lion and Mountain Lion- pretty cool, since it isn't advertised for usage with a Mac and is only half the cost of the Apple adapter (also, it's white, so it matches all the Apple cords, etc). In case anyone is interested in knowing, my computer is a 2011-model 13-inch Macbook Air with a Core i5, and the adapter works for me under both Lion and Mountain Lion.

I should mention that my original unit didn't work. When notified of this, the manufacturer immediately replaced the defective unit, and still refunded my original purchase price. My new unit works perfectly, and I'm impressed with the excellent service I received. This manufacturer really stands behind his products and cares about quality, so this item definitely deserves the five stars I'm giving it. It's refreshing to deal with a manufacturer who knows how to treat his customers, so I'd definitely buy from BobjGear again.

I really wanted this to work. It seemed to be the perfect solution for hotels that still don't have wifi internet (a lot of them unfortunately) since Android Tablets don't have ethernet ports. I followed directions to a T, my Asus Transformer is running ICS and my Samsung Tab is running Honeycomb, but neither worked. I noticed the unit got extremely hot in just a few minutes, so it may just have been a defective unit, but it simply did not function. Back to the drawing board I guess.

OK, so it was my fault that this product didn't work, it was simply user error and it works fine with the Asus. Besides showing my incompetence, however, the product deserves a 5 because of the way the company stands behind it. It's a very inexpensive product and defects occur every so often in anything, regardless of cost. What is really outstanding here is how much effort the seller made to fix the problem - even when he/she is obviously not making any profit when this amount of work has to be done. Whenever you buy a product you're not just buying a "thing" you're also buying the company behind it and in this case I got a huge amount of value for my money.

Got this little device today and tested it on my "3" devices. Nexus 7 (with OMG Cable), plugged it in and nothing happened, so I switched off my WiFi and was working perfectly on ethernet, the Jelly Bean OS just didn't give me a notification, or show anything new in settings, it just worked perfectly. Next I tried it in my ASUS TF700T infinity, first plugged into the full-size usb connection in the keyboard dock. Nice little message came up immediately telling me I was now on Ethernet, perfect. Then tried it on just the tablet itself, off the keyboard dock. Used the little ASUS gadget that plugs into the docking plug and ads a full size USB plug there as well. Again, notification that I was now on Ethernet, everything worked perfectly. Why oh Why can't all accessories Just Work, like this one does. No drivers to install, no nothing, it just plain works. Bobj Gear has done us a good turn by providing us with this great gadget. BUY!

Reading forums I found that the most recommended wired ethernet adapters for the Nexus 7 were the plugable brand and the brand from a certain Cupertino company. I bought one of the white Cupertino brand adapters only because they were readily available from my local Best-big-box store. I wasn't too happy with the performance, so I gave the BobJGear a try. I get 24,000 kbps downloads with BobJ and only got about 9,000 kbps from Cupertino company's. Both did work right out of the package with the Nexus 7. Bob J was about half the price. Recommended for your Nexus 7. Now I just have to figure out how to make my Nexus into a wifi router.

This adapter does work with my NEXUS 7 tablet. I was able to connect the tablet to my office network via the RJ45 ethernet adapter. (Although the hardwired network connection so not show up in Settings on the NEXUS 7. Unfortunately it does not work with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, because of the Samsung multi-pin connector.

Works! thats all I need to say lol.

Most of Asus tablets come with hidden drivers built in and Ethernet is one of them. Work on Asus Transformer TF700T and Nexus 7 (when you have micro-usb adapter)
