Editorial Reviews

Review

...simple, hassle-free net surfing with a minimum of reading...written by Bob Rankin, the driver of the widely acclaimed Internet TourBus. -- NetGuide Magazine, December 1996

This book has single-handedly cleared a whole shelf I've set aside to store the multitudes of Internet tomes I've acquired over the years. In just 145 pages, Rankin explains everything you really need to know about using the Internet fully and effectively. -- Capital PC Monitor, December 1996

This relatively brief Internet guidebook stands out from the crowd for what it doesn't do: It never bogs down its readers in historical overviews, technical details, and complex jargon...it provides straight-forward, plain-English advice. -- Electronics Now, February 1997

2.0 out of 5 stars Using the Internet for interpersonal communications, April 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Dr. Bob's Painless Guide to the Internet: & Amazing Things You Can Do With E-Mail (Paperback)
Informative guide to using the Internet as a way to network with other people, as opposed to just browsing websites. An easy read, written for "newbies" to understand. Ranges across many topics: email, discussion groups, mailing lists, file transfer protocol, search engines and so on. A little dated now, printed in 1996.
