This is turbinado sugar - it does not have a lot of the cane's natural vitamins in it. So called 'sucanat' sugar has a lot more of the vitamins and so on in it (and, of course, it costs more), and is thus better for you than this.

Just so folks are clear on what this is and what it is not.

I found this explanation on a cooking site:

"The name Sucanat is a blending of the words "sugar cane natural," and this is indeed a fitting moniker. Sucanat is the juice from the sugar cane plant that has been dried through a special process of removal, heating and cooling. The resulting sugar is on the fine side and maintains its natural molasses content.

"When making Turbinado sugar, the juice from the sugar cane plant is extracted, heated and then turned into crystals. This type of sugar does not preserve much of its original molasses content, although it is often used in recipes as a substitute for brown sugar."

This is a very good substitute for processed sugar. I am eliminating as many highly processed foods as possible from my diet and this product is less processed than regular white sugar and sweetens perfectly.

Yes. That is correct. This evaporated, organic sugar is soooo much more healthy for using in baking or in coffee or even your morning cereal.

This is a good sugar; typical grind/coarseness, dissolves well, bakes well, does not add a different/unique flavor or color to drinks
