I like kale chips with "cheesy" nutritional yeast so wanted to give it a try. Out of the package, it's a little bland and does need some salt. I've been using this to thicken soups. My husband really likes adding it to veggie soups. After blending the soup in the vitamix, we simmer the soup again and add 1/4 cup to up to 2 quarts of soup. It does make the soup more creamy. I sprinkled it on popcorn yesterday, and it was tasty.

UPDATED: I have had to discontinue this. It was making me nauseous (like morning sickness) and giving me digestive distress. I researched and found that people who have mold allergies tend not to do well with nutritional yeast. My husband still likes it and uses it. I guess more for him.

I've been a vegan for almost a year now and I use nutritonal yeast a lot. I use it to make vegan queso for my nachos, mac & cheese, sprinkled on my popcorn and I like to make a vegan version of parmesan using cashews and nutritonal yeast. I use it in a ton of recipes. MANY people love nutritonal yeast but you will either love it or hate it. You really just need to get a few recipes and try them.

I couldn't find nutritional yeast anywhere locally. I called up a few local stores, and even asked at Walmart, and all said the only kind of yeast they had was baker's yeast.

Now, I have used a few Bob's Red Mill products, and I associate all of their products with quality. So I decided to look immediately for their nutritional yeast, and ordered it.

My wife liked the taste of it out of the bag, but I didn't; I thought it was far too strong. But mixed into sauces or blended with cashews to make a simple vegan parmesan cheese, it is very tasty. I make a great vegan alfredo sauce that comes out great with this nutritional yeast, and even non-vegans love it. I'm starting to like the taste of nutritional yeast in my vegan parmesan on my pasta.

1/4 c of nutritional yeast contains just 0.5 g fat, 5 g carbohydrates, 3 g of fiber, and 6 g of protein. It is also fortified with vitamin b12, which is important for vegans.

Bought this from a recommendation from a friend due to its nutritional value. Tastes great & just as described to me. Would most likely purchase this item again since busy schedule & reliance on buses causes me to lean toward more online purchases. Arrived quickly & satisfied with overall purchase.

One of my biggest challenge when going vegan was leaving Parmesan cheese behind. As I read more and more books I realized that many recipes called for the very versatile Nutritional Yeast. Happyherbivore.com had a good blog post about it and my first use after receiving this product was to top pasta with it. Delicious and I have been using it so often- in so many different recipes - that I am going to have to order another bag.

I was skeptical about using this. I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian. But I do try to eat healthy. I dehydrate vegetables, and I read somewhere that this product would add a nice flavor to kale chips. It worked very well. I used it today. I added a little sesame seed oil, salt, pepper and I lightly sprinkled the nutritional yeast all over. I mixed it up really well and two and a half hours later I had some terrific tasting kale chips.

I use this to sprinkle on various cooked vegetables. It does not add any bad taste to the food, it actually tastes pretty good. I would purchase this again.
