So this cereal isn't fortified with additional vitamins and minerals like Malt-o-Meal and Cream-of-Wheat.

When I travel to Siberia, I take about 20 lbs of Bob's Red Mill Organic White Wheat Farina. With the cold, it doesn't spoil and all I need is ice to melt on a stove to cook it. Very simple and provides energy for the day's hike, along with a bottle of non-alcoholic vodka.

I have been eating Cream of Wheat for years, but recently got a defective batch that was very gritty even after cooking as directed. So I started researching an organic option and found Bob's. It's creamy, tastes fresh and was a good value. I don't think I'll ever go back to Cream of Wheat again!

I ordered this & am very happy with my purchase. It tastes great & I'm happy I don't have to worry about eating pesticides and gunk for breakfast, and neither does my family. I'm especially happy, since winter's coming up. A nice, hot bowl of this cereal in the morning will really hit the spot! I'm glad that the cereal is not fortified with synthetic vitamins. I go through a great deal of trouble to make sure my vitamins are the best quality & easily assimilated into my system. I don't even use lotion that uses fake vitamin e oil.. So this is a great thing for me. I don't have to worry about man-made synthetic stuff clogging up my system & not being able to be absorbed by my body & if it does get absorbed, I don't have to worry about any consequences.

One other thing that I really like about Bob's Red Mill products is that they're stone ground. I prefer stone-ground over using metal. People have lived for thousands of years, before the time of Pharaohs using stone ground grains. If it was good enough for them, it's good enough for me! Farina is also less processed than "cream of wheat".. Less processed is a good thing in my book!

The only thing that I could complain about is the packaging. I would rather it come in a resealable bag, but it doesn't. That would make it more convenient to use and to store, but you can put it in a ziploc bag or in some sort of canister, so it's not that big of an issue. You just have to remember when it expires and use it before then.

I don't know what else to say about this product.. It tastes as good, if not better than cream of wheat, doesn't have pesticides and synthetic vitamins, it's inexpensive & with free shipping for a whole case of it, you really can't go wrong.. Unless you're allergic to wheat.

I normally eat long cook Cream of Wheat (the brand name farina). I stopped buying Cream of Wheat at the store because they started only carrying the quick-cook variety which has disodium phosphate (a totally unecessary additive). So I tried this Farina instead. Overall the problem with this Bob's Red Mill White Farina is that it is too finely ground and has an overly smooth texture. I prefer a "grittier" farina.

Its been a while since I had the Cream of Wheat brand but I loved it as a kid. This to me is better than the C of W brand. Its organic, had nothing added and tastes great. I make it several times a week. I originally bought the Bob's Whole Wheat Farina which I liked but texture is much different. So glad I bought this.

Try this for a nice Cinnamon Apple variation.
add 3 tablespoons applesauce to a 2 Cup measuring cup. Fill the remainder with water - 2 cups total liquid.

add
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Boil and remove from heat, stir in farina and bring to boil again. Let stand for a couple min.

I then add a little maple syrup and some blue agave over the top.

Very fine, creamy, not grainy. Tastes great!
We are very pleased to have found a product that is wholesome and that cares about the well-being of its customers while making profit. We no longer purchase Cream of Wheat since it is more than likely GMO.
We've noticed that it gets very thick if we follow the instructions on the back, so adjust according to your liking. I'd say add less wheat and work your way up.This is going to be on my Subscribe and Save for sure!
Thanks Amazon!

I eat this 2-3 times a day. It is easily made in the microwave-I use a bit less water than is recommended, because I like it a bit on the "clumpy" side. I have also found that it is best to prepare this in a covered mug with a "steaming hole" as at times it has boiled over in the microwave-especially when I don't heat it in small increments.A bit of salt and butter-and I have a nice, hot, comforting meal. The kids like it with a bit of sweetener-and some raisins-sometimes I will throw in some chocolate chips just after heating for a real treat. I prepare mine with water only, however my kids do like it when I add a splash of milk in it.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT. We have tried the vast majority of Bob's products and regularly use them for cooking and baking. We regularly enjoy the Museli and the 7 and 10 grain cereal mixes as well as the polenta. The White Wheat Farina is definitely the most popular with my children and a favorite of mine as well.

My only advice is DON'T dump it in the hot water. It cooks the same as polenta, but is quite a bit finer so it must be stirred in to avoid clumping!!
