4.0 out of 5 stars BurningMan Goggles - Work Great, December 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bobster Bugeye Sunglasses (Apparel)
This is my third pair of these goggles. I keep them clipped to my belt at burningman - they come with a carrying case with clip - so they get sat on, kicked, pushed, and otherwise mutilated. A pair lasts about two years before the alkaline dust eats away at the foam that surrounds the eyes. For normal use I suspect they would last much longer. I will be buying a fourth pair when this set dies.

The picture doesn't really explain what you are getting. There is one set of goggles, three pairs of lenses, and one carrying case. The lenses come in clear, yellow, and normal black. They snap in and out of the goggles without any levers or other fancy-smancy nonsense. I have broken the clip-in piece off of one of the lenses, but really, I deserved to break it. Even once broken the lens would sortof attach and made it the next four days without a problem.

The pouch is a weak point. It has two pockets. One is clearly designed to hold the goggles and the other the lenses. This doesn't work at all and everything ends up all shoved together (really, you aren't making the lenses fit in the lenses pocket.) This becomes a major downside because the goggles can scratch the lenses when they are all jumbled together in the case if they aren't carefully arranged. The pouch also comes with a cheap plastic clip that is excellent for attaching to belts, cliplines, art cars, whatever.

I love these for burningman - especially because they can handle the transition to night if I'm caught out and about - and would highly recommend them to anyone going. I do wish the pouch fit the product better, but small complaints, really. They are stylish (for goggles), have a good strap, and fit right in. No dust gets in my eyes even in a full whiteout.

As a note: my friends and I have bought this type of goggle (three lenses, interchangeable) from various different sellers under various different product names. We've discovered they are all basically the same. I'd go with whatever is cheapest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Feels flimsy, but works, September 6, 2011

I bought these for Burning Man and they fulfilled the job admirably. However, I deducted one star because they do feel pretty flimsy. In particular, there is no way to lock in or release the lenses. You just pull them out, and I suspect something will break if I change them very often. They look fine, and I'm glad that all of the lenses include 100% UV protection.
