Ah, the refreshment of the creative life!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bodacious Book of Succulence: Daring to Live Your Succulent Wild Life (Paperback)
SARK is amazing. Her books have re-awakened the sleeping creator within--the child who's been surpressed while the adult works 60 hours a week and pursue's a master's degree. Amazingly, I read this book the first day of a vacation I had fought NOT to take (how sick is that) but somehow ended up on instead. Within just a few pages, I was awakened to all the joy and laughter and life I had closeted away in order to be a successful business woman. And at that moment, I knew I could no longer go on living the same hum-drum life. Thank you SARK for giving us permission to be lazy or paint with our fingers or giggle or nap. Thank you for reminding WHY life is worth living! Change your life---read ANY of her books!!!

SARK encourages living in Technicolor,
This review is from: The Bodacious Book of Succulence: Daring to Live Your Succulent Wild Life (Paperback)
SARK's prose reads almost like poetry, as she scrawles in her own colorful handwriting phrases and beliefs that enlighten and guide the reader with a new sense of delight and energy for living. This book is a sort of sequel to "Succulent Wild Women," which first encouraged women (mainly) to be true to themselves and begin living more in the present with a sense of a good self-centeredness. "Bodacious" starts the reader on the way to living better and truer, to thriving in this world where women's self-esteem is sabotaged in tiny ways daily and 51% of the world's population walk around subject to the standards of the double standards of the other 49%. But there is no man-bashing here. Rather, there is a lot of "up with women" vibes and even support for the men strong enough to be weak and allow women to be human. SARK's vibes and wacky ideas, combined with little notes in the margin saying "you are so loved" makes this an inspiring read for any woman ready to stand in the frail light of her own humanity.

kudos from a SARK rookie,
By "melindasbooks" (Tempe, AZ United States) - See all my reviews

This was my first experience with SARK, and I was skeptical. I read the book in two nights, in a warm bath, and came out a SARK fan!! She is playful and complex at the same time - there are so many levels to her writing. If you are in the mood for a light read, this is it - in the mood for a deep thoughtful read, this is it! - don't let the childlike look of the book fool you - this woman has a lot to say, but manages to play while she says it - refreshing!

SARK has absolutely blown me away! Although some are skeptical with her books, SARK is not merely for those who need help! She is for anyone who loves life! This book is perfect for picking up at any time of the day, week, month or year to get a dose of sunshine! Her creativity sparks the readers soul as she covers subjects like healing and dealing with grouches! Bravo to SARK! I refer to this book often, as I do many of her books.

The Bodacious Book of Succulence, just like Succulent Wild Woman and SARK's other books, is an inspiration to life, liberty, & the pursuit of ultimate happiness & elated energy. Read it with colored pencils in hand and use it as an adult coloring book to highlight every morsel that speaks to you. Just reading it warms your heart and puts a bounce in your step! Enjoy the SARKarian side of life!!

My First Sark Book,

This review is from: The Bodacious Book of Succulence: Daring to Live Your Succulent Wild Life (Paperback)
I've always admired Sark's books when I went to the bookstore. I am fascinated with the bright colors, pictures, and the fact that they are all handwritten. I was really turned on to them when a friend had a copy of this book, and I liked it so much that I rushed right out and bought it. The book makes me happy, makes me think, makes me want to share it with others. If you are looking for a book that can be read in bits and pieces, or one to devour in one sitting, this is it.

Inspiration you can hold in your hand...,
This review is from: The Bodacious Book of Succulence: Daring to Live Your Succulent Wild Life (Paperback)
SARK's amazing book, The Bodacious Book of Succulence was my first "experience" with SARK. I came away inspired, amazed, and believing that I could do anything! Her artistic use of adjectives and whimsical way of drawing made me laugh and realize that inner beauty is found when we show the "inner critic" the door, and then paint and write like the mad hatters we are! What a glorious treat for those who aspire to be creative, joyous and succulent!

Another winner from the Succulent Lady herself...,
This review is from: The Bodacious Book of Succulence: Daring to Live Your Succulent Wild Life (Paperback)
SARK has demonstrated, in her previous books, that she can write with realism and honesty without falling into the trendy nihilism and negativity that has unfortunately stamped the Nineties with a greasy black mark. This book is no exception - it's sweet and lighthearted without being insipidly stuck on a clichèd "Think positive!" dogma. She relates painful experiences as well as joyous ones with, as previously, a remarkably fresh voice and a compassionate message toward her readers, male and female...and ultimately in support of all life and people in it. I applaud this book as I do her others; it's affected my life deeply, and will undoubtedly impact others, in a truly life-affirming way.
