For my money, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter has crafted one of the finest lead riffs ever in this song. I still remember hearing if for the first time and being absolutely flabbergasted at his ability to simply roll through the song with every note and chord in perfect relation to the backbeat....amazing! Just when you think he has done something that is impossible, he does something even better!!!!

A tribute to the late Roger Nichols, said to be the recording engineer on this hit, aired on NPR 18-APR-2011. Donald Fagan attributed the fine mix achieved on this still-sounds-great hit to Nichol's work with live acts. The NPR clip plays the dueling guitars solo, which is an etude-like bit of razzle-dazzle.

A wango-tango infused with big band styled swing and mysteriously obscure lyrics causing one to wonder what in the hell is "the sparkle in your china?" Is this a paean to transcendent spirituality, or just code for the carnal? Either way, what a ride!

The song, Bodhisattva, is easily one of my favorite songs due to its lively beat and amazing guitar solos. It brings me a feeling of happiness each time I hear it. Bodhisattva is the work of geniuses.
