Not what I was expecting....,

First of all, the photo on Amazon showed this book with a CD - it DID NOT come with a CD, so I will be returning it but not just for that reason. On nearly every page the author says "listen to the taped example". Well, it's a bit difficult to do that when it doesn't come with a tape either. Having researched a lot of material on how to play the Bodhran, I am now convinced that video lessons are far more helpful then those offered by a book. I looked at one video on YouTube and learned more in 5 minutes then I have from any of the books I've looked at. I do think that with this book you can get a reasonably good start in learning to play, but when I buy a product that tells me I will also get a CD or a tape with it then that's what I expect. This book was published in 1991 - I would suggest to the publisher that the text be updated and all references to "listening to the taped examples" be removed. You can't listen to something that doesn't exist. My recommendation: "Buyer Beware".
