5.0 out of 5 stars mine doesn't leak
maybe I'm just lucky, but mine doesn't leak. It does keep my tea nice and warm and is stable in my cup holder even though it's not a really tight fit.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's a "dribbler"....
I liked the mug's look, feel, & size. Then I took a drink of java from this mug... I never could get a lip lock on this mug. The rim is very thin & very wide. It would always spill a couple of drops on my shirt. Nissan mugs have what I call a "lip ledge" that prevents the "dribble" effect to which the Bodum is prone. Nissan mugs also have a much smaller diameter rim which...

I purchased two Bodum travel mugs. One of the lids leaks from the bottom. No visible difference between the two, however the lid leaks when used on either of the mugs. Be sure to dress in the color of your beverage!

Only complaints I have with this mug are that the lid can be hard to remove, they should have tailored the lid to fascilitate an easier grip.

The second and last complaint I have involves the rubber grip handle, it tended to slide enough on the surface of the mug to be loose fitting and trap liquid between itself and the mug, when you inverted the mug to take a sip, it would drip on you because of that. I fixed this by placing a bead of super glue along the top edge which made sure the grip remains seated where it was meant to be.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dribble Mug, March 9, 2006
This review is from: Bodum 16-Ounce Stainless-Steel Vacuum Travel Mug with Grip (Kitchen)
I bought this mug based on a Consumer magazine's high rating concerning how long it keeps coffee warm. It does indeed keep
it warm, but you end up with hot coffee all over your shirt. The design looks nice, but its fine rim with single narrow o-ring is almost impossible to seat properly to avoid leaking. I'm going to get a replacement from Bodum, but it looks more like a design flaw than a defective unit.

What good is a mug that leaks at the silicone o-ring? And I've owned this mug for less than two weeks...

I bought three and all of them leak while drinking from them. They ruin your clothing and pose a scalding risk.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, January 24, 2008
This review is from: Bodum 16-Ounce Stainless-Steel Vacuum Travel Mug with Grip (Kitchen)
It's completely useless... The lid does not fit on the mug and so it dribbles all over the place. I really should have heeded the warning of a previous reviewer!! How do I return this item!!?

5.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE BEWARE, September 4, 2011
This review is from: Bodum 16-Ounce Stainless-Steel Vacuum Travel Mug with Grip (Kitchen)
Ok, here's the deal. Back when I could find this mug ON the Bodum.com website, it was also being sold at my local coffee shop, so I purchased it there. I adored it, I cherished it, I coveted it... then a couple years later, it disappeared. I was heartbroken. I looked all over and could not find another, until I stumbled upon this one, being sold here. Now, I thought, why can I find it here, but not the website? That should have clued me in that it was a knock off.

My first one was hefty, sturdy, the rubber grip was seemless, and the rubber sealing ring on the lid was FLAT. I SAID FLAT.

THIS mug has seems on the rubber grip, the plastic of the cap is cheap feeling, not velvety like the first one I had, and the sealing ring on the lid is ROUND!!! This thing leaks like a sieve no matter how tight I twist that lid.

I have not tested it for heat retention My first one kept things hot for FOUR HOURS. I mean HOT. I am going to test it tomorrow, and I'm going to email bodum and ask them if they want me to send this to them so they can assess it. Maybe I can get a flat sealing ring for it to keep it from leaking, at least.

BUYER BEWARE. If Bodum ain't sellin' it, THEY ain't MAKIN' IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Mug! Best Ever!, June 24, 2008

This mug keeps beverages hot for over 3 hours! It is the perfect size for car cup holders and feels great in the hand. It is the best travel mug I have ever bought. Other comments are accurate in the "flow" is slow, but it is a good thing for me (I have a 3 year old) when it gets knocked over, it doesn't spill everywhere. :)
