This press works pretty well. It's made of mostly plastic so I thought the first time I poured boiling water in it it would crack. Not so. I have two of these, this one and the one with the insulated rubber ring. They have had daily use for a month and still in like new shape. Both cups are insulated and will keep coffee hot for an hour or so. You do get a few grounds, but that's true with just about any press. It helps if you wait a few minutes after pressing to take your first sip. I keep one of these at work and I make the coffee in it and then pour it through a tea strainer into my mug. Keeps the grounds out and the extra coffee hot. The one downside is adding cream and sugar to the travel mug. Once the coffee is made you have to add it through the drinking opening. Tricky, especially for sugar and powdered creamer. I tried adding powdered creamer and sugar to the coffee grounds before brewing; worked fine. You can add syrup to the grounds first as well. Didn't make any difference in the pressing or the taste. Great little mug for coffee on the go. Especially if you are partial to pressed coffee.

My husband and I received one of these as a wedding gift, and liked it so much that we gave them to his parents as a thank you gift. It makes it easier to take coffee to work with you. Before it was: boil water, pour over coffee in french press, wait a few mins, transfer coffee to travel mug, clean out press, THEN go to work. Now it's just: boil water, pour into travel mug and GO! This is a real time-saver and makes it so there are less dishes to clean overall. We love them.

I don't drink a lot of coffee anymore but I know what a good cup of coffee is. I've had several different small single cup coffee makers and this one by far is the coolest and best. It makes a really good cup of coffee and I can leave the house with it, less dishes! Surprisingly it keeps the coffee warmer than other self contained travel presses I've had. All in all, I'd buy this one again.

This product has been great. I have not had any problem getting grinds in my coffee, maybe because i have the sense not to fill it up too much.
The cup is obviously concave in shape, a little larger at the top than the bottom, i fill mine up to about an inch from the top, as the instructions also say. The screen is then in full contact with the insides of the cup. there is nothing to break while pushing the press down as some have claimed on different mugs (made the same,but not with the picture insert). God only knows what some people have done. Some people have whined about the top not sealing properly. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. There is not any problem at all with the seal.
As far as adding stuff to your coffee. Simply mix it with the coffee grinds that you add and stir and then wait about 3-4 minutes to press the screen down. Some people can not figure that rocket science out.
The reason i have written this review is because if i had not of had a smaller press like this one then i would have never bought this after reading what some people have written about this press. That burns me up since i absolutely LOVE it.
Now the one thing that BODUM should be ashamed of is calling it a 16 OUNCE coffee press. You can not get 16 oz. into the cup if you have coffee in it . It should not be too difficult for BODUM to measure a small amount of liquid. So this is just a down right lie own their part.
You will have 12. ozs. if filled to within 1 inch from the top. I have a 12 oz. one and you only can get about 8 oz. of coffee from it. Which is why i ordered this one.
If 12 oz. is good for you, then just ignore some of the foolish reviews because you will love it.

I ordered this travel press and unfortunately it arrived broken twice. This leads me to conclude that the product is fragile and would not stand-up to regular ware and use for any length of time.

I bought two, one for my over the road trucker sister. I use mine daily and find it very easy to use and clean.

I love how this item can be individualized! That is so cool! But one thing I don't really like is that some of the drink can seep out alittle so that can be really bad, if its not water. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or its just bad design. But I still love the cup anyways, I'll just be more careful!

This product does pretty much what it is supposed to do. It is clearly a value item and not very high quality. I got it for limited use, and that has worked well. As others have noted some coffee grounds can get past the filter, but that was very limited and within the acceptable range for me.

Product is okay. I ordered two and one arrived broken. The press allows coffee grounds to go around the seal due to being fairly flexible.

I have owned this press for quite some time now and it makes a great addition to my bicycle journeys. The plastic is strong. I have dropped it numerous times on and off my bike. The press component is strong and consistent, no grounds in my mouth when drinking coffee. However, I cant say the same for loose leaf tea. I don't know how it gets around the press but damn does it ever.

I have beef with the term "picture press" because I haven't used it for a big picture yet. I use it for bus routes and schedules, to do lists and even to store receipts (for my bike and kryptonite lock for redeeming my security cash if my bike were to get stolen). I do have a wallet-sized picture of my family picture(Cosby sweaters!)but really that only takes up a small amount of space.

Do yourself a favor, buy it.
