Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Tea drinkers know that the ritual of making tea can be just as satisfying as drinking it. This 32-ounce glass teapot from Bodum not only lets the rich colors of various teas be enjoyed visually, but its new stainless-steel infuser improves upon the taste of tea by preventing over-steeping. The infuser has three clips that keep it gently secured to the glass pot; loose tea leaves are placed inside, hot (not boiling) water added, and the clear polypropylene lid is positioned in place with the plunger raised. After brewing to the desired strength, the rubber-ringed plunger is pressed down, effectively sealing the leaves away from contact with the water. With this ingenious method, the infuser does not need to be removed in order to prevent bitter over-brewing. Tea bags may be used instead of loose leaves. Made entirely of heat-resistant borosilicate glass, the traditionally rounded pot features a graceful, drip-less spout and a comfortable handle. The entire unit is dishwasher-safe. --Ann Bieri

Product Description

Brew loose leaf tea in contemporary elegance. The BODUM Shin Cha Tea 4 Cup tea press combines the look of a traditional spouted teapot, with the more contemporary glass designed and tea press system. With the press system, you simply need to add your loose leaf tea to the infuser, fill the pot with hot water, and then let the tea steep to your liking. Once the tea has finished brewing, simply press the plunger down. Pressing the plunger pushes the tea leaves below the infusion holes and cuts off access between the water and the, completely stopping the brewing process. You don't need to remove the infuser and you don't have to worry about t your favorite tea . This version of the Shin Cha comes with the new stainless steel infuser. The 4 Cup Tea Press is 32 ounce and yields 4 - 8 ounce cups of tea.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant, beautiful design, November 15, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bodum Shin Cha 4-Cup Glass Tea Press with Stainless-Steel Infuser (Kitchen)
Not only is this design inspired (clean lines, smooth styling), but the tea strainer/plunger is super clever. We use this tea press every single morning, and I appreciate how easy it is to clean and use. Recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too fragile, December 28, 2008
This review is from: Bodum Shin Cha 4-Cup Glass Tea Press with Stainless-Steel Infuser (Kitchen)
Be careful handling this. I mean VERY careful! I was holding the handle while drying it and the pot cracked a bit near the bottom seam of the handle. This was after owning 3 days and using it 4 times. I was very disappointed because I loved it and Bodum doesn't make replacement glass tea pots.
