The Bodum Pavina double wall cooler glass is 12 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant and cafe and they are a definite conversation piece. Bodum's insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional "soda-lime" glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn't need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

The functionality of these glasses - keeping your beverage hot or cold - works perfectly.
I have used these daily, and with a full glass of ice, and I barely ever see it melt. With hot coffee, it definitely extends the fresh and hot duration of your favorite brew. Other reviewers complain about dropping and breaking their cups only to find that they are not meant for the clumsy. Yes, glass does break. If you need something safer, buy a sippy cup.

Have completely done away with all of my other glasses, though you have to be a little careful with these...the glass is thin. So far they have held up in the dishwasher and the the microwave.

We had the glasses less then a month and the inside liner cracked when ice was put in the glass. another one just started to get misty between the two layers. Had another set of these that lasted several years and held ice and anything else without cracking. Very very disappointing.
