These double-walled glasses kicked some major butt.

While they lasted.

I love beer, and these were perfect for keeping a tall-n'-frosty, FROSTY. They were great.

BUT, within a month, both had fallen prey to a house with dangerous, hard surfaces; their thin walls were little splinters of light on the floor and sink, respectively.

So, if you are sure you can care for them gently and nicely, I'd say get them. If you have a sink with a little bit of a slope that causes them to tip, or you leave them near the edge of a drying rack, you'll be living in constant fear of breaking them.

If I could shelter them, I'd have a set of twelve.

These mouth blown double wall glasses keep their contents cold to the last drop. I tested them to 2 hours and the contents were still as cold as when poured. The glasses have a smooth, pleasant feel to the lips and are attractive enough for the most discerning guest. They will hold 12 oz of beer, but no room for a head, so pour with care. I am using them for every drink I want to keep hot or cold. They don't "sweat" and they don't burn my hands with hot liquid in them. Great, classy, addition to our bar.

i bought these mugs because i thought they were aesthetically pleasing as well as really a good idea. these statements are still both true, as i enjoyed using the glasses for the short time they lasted. unfortunately these glasses are extremely delicate. they are as delicate as expensive crystal. sadly, using these mugs to enjoy my morning coffee resulted in them lasting no more than a few days. all that it took to destroy a mug was the impact from a slight tilting onto the counter from a standing position on that same counter. the other mug shattered upon a light bump while being hand washed in the sink. it is a shame, because they are so beautiful and do really work as described. please bodum try again and make these a bit more robust?

i've had these less than 2 wks. just was hand-washing one and it slipped - huge sharp shards slice both of my hands - jagged and deep.
as a 27+-yr career research biochemist, i am used to pyrex lab glass - which i THOUGHT this was - waaaaaaaaaaaayyy too thin for in-home use!

do not buy.

The double walled glasses are okay. They do keep beverages cold or hot longer and are comfortable to hold. However, they are not very durable. One arrived broken, which was very quickly replaced. And another one just broke inside the double walls. A bit pricey to break so quickly. Bottom line, I would bother replacing them if more break.

I own and use a Bodum coffee press and I expected the same glass quality in these double-walled glasses. Without reading the reviews (my mistake), I ordered 6 each of two sizes. In fact, these lovely glasses are so fragile that I've broken several of them and now rarely use them. I recommend you pass these by, surely there is a better double-wall glass available.

UPDATE - TWO+ YEARS LATER (OCT 2011)
My dear, sweet husband just broke our last Bodum glass. They'd been sitting unused until recently, when we decided to give them another try. As an ice cube was dropped in the empty glass I actually felt relief with the shattering. I guess I should have mentioned how happy this made me, that I'd order a different brand of glasses this week. But he ordered replacements without me knowing it. *sigh*

I purchased this product with much trepidation as to their sturdiness. From reading the other reviews I was sure that the glasses were too fragile for dishwashers and everyday usage. I still use and handle the glass very carefully, hand washing and being ever mindful as to how incredibly thin the "glass" walls are. They continue to hold up, but what a pain having to worry all of the time about shattering them. They've become more of a novelty item brought out for good beers than a glass you can use and then toss into the sink or dishwasher.
It"s easier (and much less classy) to use a stainless steel tumbler...

Gave these to my mom. She loved them, now I need to get some for myself. They are great, wish they were a little bigger since we use them more for ice water than for beer.

These glasses are great for beer and other cold beverages. I do not find that they keep cold drinks any cooler than a regular glass, but the best feature is you can set them down anywhere without having to worry about sweat rings on your furniture. They are very delicate and light weight, and as another reviewer noticed, you will live in fear of them breaking easily. Place them carefully in a dishwasher and keep away from clumsy friends and children. Also, they will not hold a full 12oz. can of beer or other beverage. Otherwise, they are beautiful glasses and everyone who sees them wants them.

These glasses are a great idea, a nice shape, and perfect for beer. They would get a five except they are both broken in two weeks time. They are ultra thin glass. One broke the first time it was used. Set it down on the granite counter a little too hard and it cracked. The second one broke when I dropped a really small ice cube into it. Just pop! Another one bites the dust.
