5.0 out of 5 stars Stable and easy to use
This French press is much more stable than the classic metal Bodum French press, so is easier to use without breaking it. This one doesn't tip over, and doesn't slide on counter tops. And no question that a French press makes the best coffee. The brown is a nice rich coffee color, true to the color in the picture.

3.0 out of 5 stars Brittle Glass
We love coffee made with a French Press. Unfortunately the glass Bodum uses is very brittle. Our dishwasher has broken two in the past 6 months; nothing else has ever broken in the dishwasher, including crystal white wine glasses. Our original Bodum had a metal holder, which rusted so the latest we bought was constructed from unbreakable plastic, which proved so stiff...

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent press., January 26, 2010

I have been a regular French Press user for quite a few years and I really like this one. It is sturdy and keeps the coffee warm for quite awhile. I would say that the lid design is a bit flawed in how it has to be lined up just so. However it's not a deal breaker and I would absolutely buy one of these again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soldiers in Iraq love this, January 30, 2010

I sent this coffee press to a soldier in Iraq for Christmas and we keep hearing about how he shares it with other soldiers and enjoys the coffee. It was affordable and simple for them to use. I send coffee in care packages (with cookies, of course) and I am so happy to find a gift they really use.

Our dishwasher has broken two in the past 6 months; nothing else has ever broken in the dishwasher, including crystal white wine glasses. Our original Bodum had a metal holder, which rusted so the latest we bought was constructed from unbreakable plastic, which proved so stiff that we could not remove the glass vessel from the handle, without shattering the glass.

I was impressed with the quality of this unit. This is the first time I have tried a French press. It provides a different experience in taste (a good one) over my regular coffee maker. It is important to use a more coarse grind of coffee though. I would recommend it to those wishing a deeper "coffee experience."

5.0 out of 5 stars If you love coffee, you owe it to yourself to try a French Press, January 15, 2011
By
My first coffee maker was a Melitta, before there were electric coffee makers for the home. I've owned a lot of coffee makers over the years since then but none of them equal the coffee from a French Press. A week after I bought this, I put away my electric coffee maker.

A French Press is so very easy to use, and you don't need an expensive grinder for the coarse grind that the press uses. Dishwasher safe means cleanup is a breeze. This size (8 cup) makes about three cups or two large mugs of coffee. One thing I really dislike is old coffee that's been sitting on a burner too long. It's a little less convenient to make a new batch each time, but you never get old burned coffee this way, so it's really worth it.

If you love coffee, you owe it to yourself to try a French Press.

Was introduced to a smaller Bodum French Press coffee maker on a camping trip. Was very impressed. Great tasting coffee so easily prepared under less than ideal conditions. Decided to get one for home use.

Did read the capacity specifications, but the "8-cup" was still misleading. It actually produces about 2 - 3 average mug size "cups" of coffee.

This is a very good press style coffee maker. The plunger and mesh screen are of very good quality and workmanship. I would recommend it.

The flavor of coffee this brews is great! It's very easy to use so we use it often. It's important to get good quality coffee, course ground. It cleans up very easily and seems to be of the same Bodum quality but with a more durable plastic trim/surrounding casing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Way to make coffee, January 30, 2010

This was a good buy. Bodum is a well known french press coffee maker. Once you make your coffee with one of these, it will be the only way you will want to make coffee.
