5.0 out of 5 stars Yes fragile....
You can get 4 of these at the Coors website for $20....yes, they have the BODUM logo at the bottom. They do say Coors Light, my 1554 Dark Belgium has never complained about it though...

1.0 out of 5 stars Too fragile; even hand-washing allows water inside walls
In my never-ending need to own fancy things, I foolishly bought these glasses when they were first released, for even more than they cost now (although they are still expensive). 1.0 out of 5 stars Too fragile; even hand-washing allows water inside walls, February 9, 2007

In my never-ending need to own fancy things, I foolishly bought these glasses when they were first released, for even more than they cost now (although they are still expensive). Folks, please stick with plastic insulated glasses! I know that plastic is tacky, but some things are just more trouble than they are worth. You WILL BREAK these glasses, no matter how hard you try not to, so maybe its a good deal that Amazon is presently offering a deal on them.

In short: these glasses are easier to break than my Riedel Bordeaux glasses (in other words, FRAGILE); the glasses allow water to seep into the small hole on the bottom during hand washing, which is ugly (the tiny hole on the bottom of the glass prevents the glass from cracking due to rapid temperature changes); and dropping ice into the glasses or using too hot or cold a beverage will crack them. The only upside is they look nice for awhile (until water seeps in, or a hair line crack appears).

My first set was crushed in shipment. Amazon had not wrapped it in bubble wrap or anything else, and the Bodum box is severely lacking in built-in protection. Amazon DID ship new ones right away.

Save yourself the trouble of worrying about and dealing with these glasses! Pretty enough for awhile, you will find yourself so worried about ruining these expensive glasses that you will sit them on your shelves and simply stare at them. I really am sorry to say this... I don't give many negative reviews, and I generally like Bodum products.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Glasses, but FRAGILE, October 25, 2005
This review is from: Bodum Canteen Double-Wall Cooler/Beer Glasses, Set of 2 (Kitchen)
My set of 2 is down to 1 with a slight tap on the sink while cleaning it -- just a note to others that these glasses are Extremely fragile. In my opinion, the glass should be thicker to allow for everyday bumps ...especially after you've had a few beers while watching the game.

I've had these since they first came out. Initially I was surprised that they didn't break and were microwave safe, so I four more were ordered. But now I've had two literally EXPLODE upon minor impact. I found shards of glass all over the kitchen for weeks. Two more broke when I got ice from the door of our new Monogram refrigerator. The impact of the ice broke the inner shell and it wasn't readily apparent until half the drink was consumed. These things are dangerous!

Bodum customer service says there is no warranty.
I say no more Bodum.

The insulated glassed are great. The first shipment was poorly packed and two of the four glasses were broken. I returned the broken glassed and immediately received new unbroken glasses. Now a month later Amazon says I didn't return the glasses and there are going to double bill me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great Design Poor Execution, October 13, 2005

In the last year I have ordered a at least 24 of these glasses. They look wonderful, hold hot and cold drinks amazingly. YET THEY ALWAYS BREAK, THEY ARE BEYOND FRAGILE, THEY ARE FRAGILE TO THE TENTH POWER. ICE CUBES FORGET, WASHING THEM WITH A SPONGE FORGET, SQUEEZE THEM TO HARD AND FORGET. AT $20.00 A POP YOU CAN HAVE A GLASSBLOWER MAKE YOUR GLASSES.

Spoke with Bodium USA and they are aware of the issue and there is nothing planned to correct it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless, August 3, 2007

According to the Bodum website: "Simply treat it as you would any glass product and it will stand up to every day use." I have never had a glass break when I dropped an ice cube into it, as this one did. I had a set of two and was extra careful after the first one broke. The second one didn't survive much longer.
These glasses are extremely fragile - virtually useless.

4.0 out of 5 stars These glasses are unique and handy - but a bit fragile, September 17, 2006

I love the function of these glasses. We were given some of these Bodum double wall glasses and immediately saw the quality difference. They will not sweat, they will keep your cold stuff cold, etc. I have two down-sides... These must be handled gently, they are not that thick or hearty. Until we realized what was going on, we cracked two by having our refigerator ice dispensor throw cubes into them, cracking them. Plus I yanked the dishwasher open fast, knocking one over into something solid, and it broke.

But overall, if you handle them with a bit of care, they are really neat glasses.

5.0 out of 5 stars great glasses, June 10, 2008

I have owned 2 sizes (12 glasses total) for a year and a half and my first break was 2 days ago through my own inattention. I wasn't looking and hit the side of the stainless steel sink. If I had been paying attention this never would have happened. I wash them usually in the dishwasher but also by hand. I've NEVER had water get in between the 2 layers.
The glasses look good, dress up "every day" uses and I definitely will keep them among my glasses.

1.0 out of 5 stars one time use...way too fragile...not practical, December 30, 2007
This review is from: Bodum Canteen Double-Wall Cooler/Beer Glasses, Set of 2 (Kitchen)
Bought a set for a christmas present for my boyfriend. I had heard they were fragile but tried them anyway. We're already down to 1. I used a glass once & then the 2nd time, went to place a small ice cube in the glass & shattered the entire inner layer. Might have thought I dropped a huge heavy rock into the glass. If you have extra money to through away then these disposable glasses are for you. I prefer solo cups though if I can only use it once...
