I purchased the 6oz. 'Canteen' model, to try out with straight liquor on ice. I am more a sipper than a gulper, and with normal glasses, the ice always melts before I finish, diluting my drink. Overall, I have been very pleased with these Bodum insulated glasses. My ice lasts much longer, my drink stays cold, etc.

That said, there are always tradeoffs. The glasses have a lightweight, almost plastic feel to them. They lack the substantial feel of thick-bottomed Old-Fashioned glasses. I suspect that perception is exaggerated by the appearance of the Bodum glasses. At casual glance, the airspace between the two layers tends to looklike it is thick bottomed also - which it is not. When you pick one up, your are always mildly surprised at how little they weigh.

Another aesthetic tradeoff of the double-wall construction is the thick, rounded rim. It is quite unlike the hard, crystalline thin walls of a good-quality drink glass. My wife found this particular feature troubling enough to not use the Bodum glasses.

However, I do continue to use them. Despite all the compromises, they actually do fulfill their mission. They do keep your drink fresher, longer. I can hold the drink in my hand comfortably, and am not always looking for a coaster to put it down. I plan to buy a set of the larger size for my summer beer drinking.

Best possible bourbon glass for your first 3 drinks, after that you'll need to put it away or you could break it. It's glass is thin, but it's well worth the risk.

These glasses are the best glasses I have ever owned. I will never use another type of glass. They can be used for both hot and cold beverages, you can not feel either cold or hot on the outside of the glass, and they don't sweat so you don't need to use coasters.

I saw these in the Starbuck's store while looking for a gift for some friends I was visiting. I bought two sets and gave them to my friends. Within days they had broken all but one. I have some that I have not broken, and I did not see how they broke them, but for some people these glasses seem to be a liability.

I also have a large coffee mug, so far so good. I also do not have a dishwasher, so I wonder if the heat from the dishwasher could have something to do with it. I love the glasses they are good insulators, and a nice sleek design ... but be careful.

the breakage problem has been mentioned over and over, so it might be good for Bodum to manufacture them a little better or thicker. Some people have mentioned that newer products they have bought seem to be stronger.

This is a great glass. It's a good size and I love the wide opening. The double glass keeps drinks cold for a long time.

These glasses are great! I have a set of my own and love the idea of being able to drink hot and cold out of the same glass. And no sweating or rings on the counter. Plus they are dishwasher safe. I gave these glasses as Christmas gifts.

Usually I won't buy anything made in China thats in my kitchen or that I eat or drink out of but made an exception for these and I love them!

Perfect for juice or double shot espressos and they are much more durable and tough than you would think.

This tumbler does exactly as advertised: the glass remains cool to the touch even while holding boiling water. The only negative is that it will break easily if tapped with any hard object..so be careful with it!

These glasses are GREAT as nice and functional as all the other Bodum line AND... they can stack.

I like these glasses because they don't sweat and are light. They are sturdy enough for everyday use and keep ice longer and drinks colder. I have been a fan of Bodum for many years. Great designs.
