I could never imagine that making coffee this good could be made so easily. I am sure professional coffee lovers know this, but I learned the hard way - if you buy good coffee and make it witha wrong piece of equipment, you get little more than colored hot water.With many budget drip-style coffee makers, the only good tasting coffee you get is the first 2-3 drops, after which each consequent drop has less taste and only serves to dilute the first few drops. By the time you have a cup, you've lost a lot of the flavor of your "good coffee". I'm sure that is not the case with more expensive machines, but I am not a big enough coffee drinker to warrant a $400-$500 machine! But this press changes all that. I did not change my brand of coffee, but I never knew it could taste this good. Excellent coffee. Period. And it only takes 2 minutes to make. The reason I bought this specific model is because of the design. The cups are sturdy and look like they will last a long time. There is no documentation of dishwasher safety, but I put them in my dishwasher and had no problems.

Now that I've discovered how incredibly quick, easy and enjoyable it is to make coffee with a French press, there's no way I'll ever go back to an automatic drip coffee maker ever again. This French press from Bodum is incredibly attractive (the photo online doesn't do it justice). It will make a great addition to your kitchen, and it makes an interesting conversation piece as well. The best part, of course, is the delicious coffee you can make with it. All you need is boiling water. Wait five minutes, and then your coffee is ready. Compared to an automatic drip coffee maker, coffee made using a French press is smoother, more flavorful, richer, and just more enjoyable in every way. This particular set from Bodum is particularly nice because it comes with two matching coffee cups. I love it!

I've owned one of these pots & mugs for years. They all still look like new and are so easy to keep clean.
I coarsely grind my own coffee in an antique coffee grinder, add it to the pot and can always count on the perfect cup of coffee. This method of making coffee is far superior to the drip method I used for years.
