The Lipstick thermal flask is an outstanding example of Bodum's emphasis on good design at affordable prices. A hit since its introduction in 1983, the fun-looking Lipstick is so-called because of its angled, bright red plastic pouring spout. The same red plastic lines the cap, which pulls off to become a drinking cup. Now made of stainless steel for improved durability and a more modern look, the bottle's vacuum-sealed, double-walled construction keeps liquids hot or cold for up to six hours, a boon for road trips or picnicking.
In addition to the insulated walls, the bottle keeps drinks hot thanks to the push-button pouring system. While the red "lipstick" spout unscrews to admit liquids, it doesn't need to come off in order to pour. A push of the pour button allows liquids to be poured out a line of small holes-albeit rather slowly. When pushed again, the button seals the contents very tightly. A little too large to slip in a briefcase but fine for a picnic basket, the flask measures 11-1/2 inches tall by 4 inches across the base. The bottle should be washed by hand and stored without the lid on so it can dry out thoroughly. --Ann Bieri
Product Description
Originally designed in 1983 and produced in plastic, the Lipstick Thermal carafe was an instant success. Today we have brought the design out of the archive and are reintroducing a new and improved version of the Lipstick thermal carafe as part of our 60th Anniversary celebration. We have updated the design with vacuum sealed double-wall stainless steel that keeps beverages hot for up to 6-hours. The stainless steel body is unbreakable and insulates up to 1-liter (34 oz.) of your favorite hot or cold beverage. The one-touch push button flow control valve helps to maintain the temperature because you don't need to remove the top to pour. The "lipstick" shape of the spout makes pouring on the go easy and reduces the chance of spilling. The matching stainless steel lid also acts as a cup. The improved Lipstick is an excellent example of the philosophy that has guided our designs for the past 60 years - "Good Design Should Not Be Expensive".
