Product Description

Amazon.com

Strikingly contemporary in design, this fondue set combines a shapely, satin-finish stainless-steel pot and a glass bowl insert to serve all forms of fondue: oil, broth, cheese, and chocolate. The pot holds 2 quarts or more of oil or broth for festively cooking meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetables. The glass bowl insert has stainless-steel handles to lower it into the pot partially filled with hot water to keep 1 quart or more of cheese or chocolate fondue melted. Neither the pot nor the glass bowl are stovetop-safe so oil or broth need to be brought to a simmer in another container on the stove. When partially immersed in simmering water, the glass bowl will melt chocolate, but cheese fondue is best prepared first on the stove. Six stainless-steel fondue forks and a fork holder that fits into the pot's top are included. Gel fuel is required, but not included. The pot stands 9-3/4 inches high on an 8-1/8-inch-diameter base. All parts are dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

This is the best set I have seen so far. The glass insert makes it easy and quick to change from oil to cheese or chocolate. Clean up couldn't be easier because everything is dishwasher safe. The review states that cheese fondue is best prepared on the stove and then poured into the glass insert, but I have melted it in the glass every time and it has always been perfect.

I bought this fondue pot a few months ago. It's very stylish and impresses our guests when we use it. However there are two things I don't like about it:
1. Because it's a fairly tall pot, sometimes we have to stand up to check on our food, or untangle our forks:)
2. Maybe it's because of the sterno cans we use, but we never get enough heat. We finally brought down and used three sterno cans at once and it worked great!
While the pot is tall, it is a nice feature if you are using oil as it protects from splatters. I do like that it comes with a lid and a bottom to protect your table. The glass insert for chocolate and cheese is nice also. Cleanup is a snap as we put everything in the dishwasher.
My two disappointments are minor. And maybe I'm just not using the right kind of heat source. Maybe I should try something else?

I was looking for a fondue pot to give as a present for a boyfriend. I started my search in Russia but ended up buying it in the States on amazon. I loved the stylish stainless-steel design and the second glass container - it is very easy to clean.

We used this pot to make cheese and chocolate. I had no idea how to make cheese fondue and I was running out of time, so I just dropped a few chunks of cheese, added wine and spice, poured water into the metal container and let it do its own thing. In just 20 mintues the fondue was ready to be devoured. Because of the glass container, the cheese didnt burn to the sides and stayed at a good temperature. After the main course, I cleaned the glass container and prepared chocolate fondue - in only 10 minutes.

The fuel burning container has a lid that allows you to control the flame and, thus, the temperature. One of the reviewers complained about not having enough flame. I purchased Bodum Fuel (which I so strongly recommend) as it is the only one that fits in the fuel container. It burned for 4 hours. Although it is a little more expensive than a general store brand, it burns better. I tried using a Kroger brand fuel, but it didnt burn much and its fumes irritated my eyes. I immediately switched back to Bodum fuel.

We had 4 people eating fondue and we didn't have any problems with the size of the pot (another reviewer mentioned that their forks got tangled).

It would make a great and stylish gift or a nice addition to your own kitchen.

Comes with recipes, too!

We received this fondue set as a gift last year and we love it. It's great for dinner parties and a lot of fun! The best thing about it is that it can do cheese, broth and/or chocolate, most pots are one or the other. Also, the sterno canisters can be bought at your local store, probably in some sort of camping or bbq aisle.

For the past 7 years we have used the bodum pots for fondue at Valentine's and we have finally perfected the fondue experience! We have tried for many years to use the sterno/gel fuel and they would constantly blow out. Very irritating...This past year we used 3 tea light candles for each pot in place of the sterno/gel fuel(we have two pots, one for cheese and chocolate)and it worked beautifully! The consistentcy of the cheese and chocolate was perfect the entire time and I only had to relight them once. I used to have to do it 5-7 times. Tea light candles are sooo much cheaper and we had them lit for 3 hours and they still hadn't burned out. Let me clarify: you have to melt the cheese and chocolate on the stove first and then transfer to fondue pot to keep warm/melted. I find the pots easy to clean and want to buy two more of these pots for next year as our Valentine's tradition is growing!

Finally - a fondue pot that you can clean! The glass insert is used for cheese and chocolate and is dishwasher-safe; use the metal outer pot for broth or oil-based fondues. It's elegant and beautiful, easy to put together and take apart. Comes with a nice recipe book as well.
