A fantastic set!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bodum Stainless-Steel Fondue with Glass Insert (Kitchen)
This is the best set I have seen so far. The glass insert makes it easy and quick to change from oil to cheese or chocolate. Clean up couldn't be easier because everything is dishwasher safe. The review states that cheese fondue is best prepared on the stove and then poured into the glass insert, but I have melted it in the glass every time and it has always been perfect.

It's a very stylish fondue pot, but...,

I bought this fondue pot a few months ago. It's very stylish and impresses our guests when we use it. However there are two things I don't like about it:1. Because it's a fairly tall pot, sometimes we have to stand up to check on our food, or untangle our forks:) 2. Maybe it's because of the sterno cans we use, but we never get enough heat. We finally brought down and used three sterno cans at once and it worked great! While the pot is tall, it is a nice feature if you are using oil as it protects from splatters. I do like that it comes with a lid and a bottom to protect your table. The glass insert for chocolate and cheese is nice also. Cleanup is a snap as we put everything in the dishwasher. My two disappointments are minor. And maybe I'm just not using the right kind of heat source. Maybe I should try something else?

Fondue makes a Fabulous Gift!,

We received this fondue set as a gift last year and we love it. It's great for dinner parties and a lot of fun! The best thing about it is that it can do cheese, broth and/or chocolate, most pots are one or the other. Also, the sterno canisters can be bought at your local store, probably in some sort of camping or bbq aisle.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bodum Stainless-Steel Fondue with Glass Insert (Kitchen)
I was looking for a fondue pot to give as a present for a boyfriend. I started my search in Russia but ended up buying it in the States on amazon. I loved the stylish stainless-steel design and the second glass container - it is very easy to clean.
We used this pot to make cheese and chocolate. I had no idea how to make cheese fondue and I was running out of time, so I just dropped a few chunks of cheese, added wine and spice, poured water into the metal container and let it do its own thing. In just 20 mintues the fondue was ready to be devoured. Because of the glass container, the cheese didnt burn to the sides and stayed at a good temperature. After the main course, I cleaned the glass container and prepared chocolate fondue - in only 10 minutes. The fuel burning container has a lid that allows you to control the flame and, thus, the temperature. One of the reviewers complained about not having enough flame. I purchased Bodum Fuel (which I so strongly recommend) as it is the only one that fits in the fuel container. It burned for 4 hours. Although it is a little more expensive than a general store brand, it burns better. I tried using a Kroger brand fuel, but it didnt burn much and its fumes irritated my eyes. I immediately switched back to Bodum fuel. We had 4 people eating fondue and we didn't have any problems with the size of the pot (another reviewer mentioned that their forks got tangled). It would make a great and stylish gift or a nice addition to your own kitchen. Comes with recipes, too!

Very nice pot... but...,
This review is from: Bodum Stainless-Steel Fondue with Glass Insert (Kitchen)
I have had my fondue pot for many years and loved it very much. I broke the glass insert a little while ago and unfortunately cannot get a replacement anymore, so alas, I will finally have to part with it. I have nothing bad to say about the product, but I do have to point out that the seller is being rather misleading - this product was not "a Williams Sonoma exclusive" by any means. I believe we actually bought ours at Target.

Thrilled with my new set!,

I'm from Wisconsin and addicted to cheese! This stylish fondue set is perfect for fondue dining with friends! It's very well made, durable, and features a flared pot with handles designed for meat and seafood and a separate glass insert so you can make cheese or chocolate fondue. Forks are included and it has proven to be a wildly popular addition to our kitchen! A great gift idea for fellow cheese lovers!

Great fondue pot for grown-ups,

This is a very good fondue pot. It looks great and is well made, sterno cans (the fuel source) have always been easy to find in the grocery store and last quite a while. I've owned it for almost 10 years and used to use it quite often for dinner and parties. Since having children it's gotten less use. I thought fondue would be fun for family dinners but since the pot is so tall the kids have to stand on their chairs to dip. It's also way bigger than I need, for a family of two adults and two kids under age 10 I would prefer one half the size.

Beware of glass insert,

Fun while it lasted, but the glass insert broke in my hands in the sink one night while washing it, I lost a chunk of my thumb, and ended up in the ER at 1am. The glass is too fragile. A set with a ceramic insert may be a better/safer choice.

gel fuel,

This review is from: Bodum Stainless-Steel Fondue with Glass Insert (Kitchen)
I WOULD LIKE TO ORDER THIS PRODUCT, ALTHOUGH IT USES GEL FUEL WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED. DO YOU SELL THIS ITEM OR WHERE CAN I PURCHASE. I DO NOT WANT TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM UNLESS I KNOW WHERE THE GEL FUEL CAN BE PURCHASED.
