How to fix the break,

The one problem I have run into with Bodum Coffee and Tea Presses is that they do break down rather quickly. Although it is a bit of a hassle, you can quickly fix the break yourself. Replace the cheap plastic nut with a metal nut and a couple of washers and it works great. I've been using my 32 oz Bodum press almost everyday for the past year and it never broke again.

Stainless not as well designed as plastic version,

I had this item in the plastic style for about a year and LOVED it! Eventually, after daily use and top shelf dishwasher weekly washing, the plastic cracked. I opted for the stainless version thinking it would last longer. It may, but it is not quite as well designed. The top of the stainless steel thermal cup is not perfectly round which means that the rubber top does not quite fit correctly and leaves a slight gap at one spot that causes it to drip coffee into my lap unless I carefully place the opening just to the right of the gap. This means the top is just barely tight enough to not come off - a tenuous situation to be in at work. Also, the press fits too snuggly into the stainless chamber and sometimes grounds get caught and it is nearly impossible to press the filter down - like it takes 2 hands and a lot of muscle - and it makes a groaning noise - not good in a meeting. This never happened w/my plastic style. I do LOVE the concept of press pot coffee on the go, but will choose the plastic version over the stainless next time.

This press worked great, but only for about a month. After that the press disc would not stay attached to the end of the plunger when I was pressing...
