2.0 out of 5 stars Buy if you have your own chef, September 3, 2006
By
M. Werner (CINCINNATI, OHIO United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I purchased this book before it even hit the shelves because of how easy the preparation of the meals was supposed to be. The day before I was induced with my second child, I spent 3 and a half hours at the grocery store (with my 16 month old) trying to find all of the ingredients necessary for the plan. Over $300 later, I thought I had everything. Not so! On the very first day there were items on the menu that were not part of the shopping list. And meal preparation?! Not as easy as described for a new mom with a newborn. I needed a personal chef to get everything done for me. No wonder celebrities rave about this plan...they have money and chefs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Body After Baby ROCKS!, May 9, 2006
By
Amy Denoon (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
As a 2nd time new momma -- and a busy fashion & beauty publicist -- I was yearning to take off the pounds oh-so-quickly. I put on too much weight the first time around, and even though I watched it more this time, I still indulged in one too many slices of pizza (late night craving???) and too few trips to the gym. Needless to say, after my bundle of joy made his grand entrance, there was much "me" work to be done. Enter Jackie. From the moment I came home from the hospital, Jackie and her Body After Baby Book and Progam make it a no brainer for losing the weight AND feeling great. With no effort -- and all the while enjoying great food -- I was able to shed those extra baby pounds in no time. Now, if only getting junior to sleep through the night was as easy as this....

5.0 out of 5 stars Why this one is a WINNER!, May 23, 2006

You're a new mom, you may be tired or have little time to prepare meals and, even worse, you've got some extra pounds (maybe even more than "Some").
This book can help you shed your weight in record time while still leaving you with plenty of energy.
Here's what it contains:
VERY EASY RECIPES that are healthy, family friendly and keep you feeling full. I loved the Vegetable Barley soup (as did my family), warm pineapple rings and southwest chicken salad. There is a STRONG EMPHASIS on solid nutrition so breast-feeding moms can be assured their babies will remain healthy...as will Mom

A GREAT section which allows moms to incorporate exercise into play periods with their babies, a wonderful way to make sure you exercise....no matter what. You don't have to wait till the baby is asleep and some of the exercises (such as the Torso Stretch) include games like Peek-a-Boo. If your baby is too young for that, you can simply smile and coo and maintain involvement at whatever level your baby can handle. In some of the exercises you actually hold your baby; in others the baby can be in a baby bouncer or lie on a mat next to you.

Shopping Lists that aren't overly complicated

Lots of illustrations

A question/answer section that covers topics such as eating foods to help combat post-partum depression (although the author is certainly not suggesting that food ALONE can cure serious depression).....adapting the plan for mothers of twins....the foods which provide the most energy...how much exercise is enough and how much is too much..and more.
