Lainie Kazan is one of the best Cabaret singers of the 20th Century. I still have some of her LPs from the 1960s and she also performed on many variety shows, including the Dean Martin Show. She invokes so much raw emotion, she can sizzle as much as a swizzle stick in a cocktail. Perhaps one day we will see a re-issue of her live double album recorded at her club, which was co-located with the old LA Playboy Club. This album is a must!

I have been a fan of Lainie Kazan for a long time, and I am so glad to hear her recording new material. She made 4 albums for MGM and I am thankful for this very talented woman. Keep on singing Ms. Kazan

Seeing her live, Kazan's historically sizzling sexiness is almost a distraction from that amazing, aching, passionate voice. This is her best CD, and it captures all that is remarkable and unforgettable in her singing. Best cut is "I'm a Fool to Want You," so beautifully emoted that it reminds us also of what a fine actress she is.

I saw a Nanny rerun on German TV last night and Lainie Kazan as Aunt Frieda sang "When I Fall in Love". I was blown away by her voice, her vocal control and the sheer simplicity and artistry of her performance (Nothing to do with being "artsy"). How great that this song is on this album as well as a number of favorites of mine - Here's to Life e.g.

A class act in every aspect, Lainie Kazan is a true performer. Both "Body & Soul" and "In The Groove" are wonderful recordings, but to see this woman live will knock your socks off!!!

This album is fantastic. "Here's to Life" is better than Streisand's recent rendition; "The Man that Got Away" is unbelieveable--think Judy Garland. "Little Girl Blue" aches and soars. "Body and Soul" could have been written for Ms. Kazan, but my favorite song was. Like Lainie, I'm "Living Alone" and I like it. Excellent song selections, wonderful arrangements and an emotion-packed voice for the decades. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Wowl! What a dynamic singer Lainie is. She is a very powerful, but yet sensitive singer. The lady can reall sing. The question is where has she been all these years? We all could have been enjoying her for the last thirty or forty years if only we had known about her.

For this cd Lainie choose the great American Songbook for her repertoire. For the most part I think she did a good job with her tune selection.

As for the band, she choose only the best musicians to back her up. I would like to mention that her music director was Shelly Markham. He did a great job with the arrangements.

In conclusion, I want to thank Lainie for the great performances she offered us. I would like to encourage any fans of great singing to try this singer out and let her woo you. I don't feel you will be disappointed.
