3.0 out of 5 stars Exercise elipitical/cycle bike, January 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Body Champ BRM3800 Cardio Dual Trainer (Sports)
I purchased the "Body Champ Cardio Dual Trainer" (Model Number BRM 3800) during the month of December for a Christmas present. We have just this date (Jan. 11, 2009), been able to assemble the product. The time lag being caused by family health problems. Regardless, it took quite some time to assemble due to the horrible assembly instructions AND I do consider myself as being very mechanically inclined since I do overhaul motors, clocks, etc.... This is probably my biggest complaint. One other item that needs to be mentioned is the "left and right" pedals being made out of plastic (part number 36 L/R pedal). They will never hold up - - metal would have been much better. Overall after assembling and reassembling the product (due to poor instructions), the product is adequate for it's price.
Another item worth mention is that we received the product with a broken part, which is part number 52 (Knob - M10). It's not real crucial, but better packaging could have prevented that problem.
Taking the buyer beware attitude, I will definitely continue shopping with Amazon.com.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get What You Pay For, February 15, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Body Champ BRM3800 Cardio Dual Trainer (Sports)
I am a firm believer in the saying, "you get what you pay for." For starters, the packaging wasn't the greatest. Most of it was intact when I received it, but a few pieces were either cracked or broken. After checking all the parts, and laying everything out, I took to the task of putting it together, which looked as though it would take quite some time. I cannot attest to what the previous person reviewed, but it took me about 2 hours to put this thing together on my own, and this is with having to push my puppy out of the way a few times to make sure he didn't eat any of the small pieces. After doing a test run on it, I have to say that the plastic pedals is probably my biggest concern. Either the part, or the entire unit will have to be replaced after a while, which means it will probably not hold up during a move. Aside from all the negative, it does what it's supposed to do, which is give you a work out. Not trying to advertise, but 30min a day on this thing will really do wonders. It helps to be able to switch between using it as a bike and an eliptical. IMO, it feels more like a bike, even when you stand up, it's like riding a bike standing. Ultimately, this is something good to have for the runner or biker who doesn't like to be in the elements during the colder/wetter parts of the year. If it weren't for the negatives, I'd give this product 5 stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not complete!!!!, April 4, 2009
This review is from: Body Champ BRM3800 Cardio Dual Trainer (Sports)
I was so disappointed when I opened the box and saw how poorly everything was packed. It was like it was majorly important to protect the top of the box and they totally forgot the bottom. There were 45 pieces missing (all the nuts and bolts, washers and most importantly the knobs!!!)

Don't even try to call the company on a weekend...they're not there. Oh yeah, they're located in California so if you're located in the east coast...don't bother calling until after 12 noon EST.

I got the package exactly when it said I was going to, but the box weighs 96 pounds. Oh also, they lied about the weight limit..on Amazon it says 300 pound weight limit, yeah, per the manual, its actually 250 pounds OR LESS!!!!!!

I can't tell you what it's like to put together...because it's Saturday and I don't have all the parts....if you want to purchase an elliptical machine, don't purchase this one.
