Not as good as the others,

I think I like this one least of all. Dominic was as sexy as the other men from the Black Stocking Society, but Brenda was too rigid and clinical. I could feel Dominic feelings for her, but I couldn't feel her feelings for Dominic. Even after her makeover, she didn't seem sexy like the other women in the series. Her character lacked femininity. I liked Dominic, he was the dark brooding, handsome and confident man, that I've grown accustomed to in the series. The story just didn't feel as develop as the others. It was okay, but something was missing in this story. Its a quick read and its not boring, it just lacked the appeal of the other books.

This is a new author for me but, I really liked the way this love story played out. The authors writing style was good and I can't wait to check out the next one.

It is a predictable book but at the same time it makes you want to keep reading and see how it gets to the ending.

This book was just ok. I found it a slow, rather boring story. I've read other books books by this author that were pretty good. I'll try some of her others. This one just didn't hold my attention.

I loved Dominic; he was willing to admit his faults in their failed marriage; he admitted that in their marriage he never had as much time with her as he should of; but once he lost her; he knew that he would do whatever he had to in order to win her back because he was still in love with her. It just bothered me that the main reason Brenda divorced him in the first place was because she was jealous of his success and didn't want to be in his spotlight because she wanted her own. HEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLO you were his wife; when he succeeds you succeed. It bothered me that it took her until the end of the book to figure that out. It's an ok book and I'm glad it only cost me $1.74.

Okay, this is MY third book of the series and my favorite thus far. I loved the complexity of the characters and never wanted their story to end! I thought Brenda was hilarious without trying to be (the cooking experiment... come on now!) I felt like she was very well developed, from her flaws to her type-A personality to her need to rationalize everything but her inability to rationalize and explain away Dominic. And Oh Lord DOMINIC! This man... This man, this man, this man. He was very complex man (even though i didn't get to see that until the end)who wore his heart on his sleeve and didn't have an issue going after what he wanted. (UMM-HUM-UMM) How do you choose between your passion and your destiny? Simple, you get out of your own way! Once Dominic opened his eyes he saw who hindered his relationship and got rid of the problem. When Brenda figured out who hindered her relationship, she stepped back and looked at it from a different point of view and life fell into place. Can you fight destiny? Heck yeah! Is it worth it? Heck no!
A must read and a must buy. Can't wait to get the last one and I hope they keep coming. Ms. Fayt

The ladies of the Black Stockings Society are at it again. This time they are helping to transform biologist Brenda Everton into the woman that she secretly longs to be. Brenda doesn't really care about fashion or style because she wears a lab coat all day. She does however care about the funding for the project she has been working on for the past few years. She only has funding for four more months and she did not receive the grant she applied for. That is where the society comes in. After the untimely death of her friend, Brenda starts to reevaluate her life. She decides to take the society up on their offer. She also decides to take her millionaire ex-husband up on his offer to give her the money to fund her project in exchange for getting her back.
Body Chemistry is a well written story by Dara Girard. Girard's writing style flows without having lagging moments in the story. Body Chemistry is the third book in the Black Stockings Society series. Girard is keeping the plots fresh and the characters believable. She is also starting to give clues about the society itself. Girard is showing the signs of a good writer by giving enough to keep you wanting more. Reviewed by Tenecia for Urban Reviews |
