About the Author

Margaret Richard's "Body Electric" is a wonderful book for all ages and fitness levels. Margaret's passion for helping others reach their physical potential is revealed throughout the book. She details her program in easy to follow steps that are accompanied by pictures and explanations on the right and wrong way to perform each exercise. In addition, she educates the reader by offering advice on a wide variety of health-related topics using humor and a common sense approach, and without being preachy.

Do yourself a favor and introduce yourself to Margaret's Body Electric program with this book. You will be inspired to learn more about Body Electric, which can be done by watching Margaret on PBS or by purchasing her DVDs.

As a healthcare professional, I appreciate all of the research that Margaret Richard did to present this book. What a wealth of information for everyone! Her approach to fitness and general "well-being" is based on sound scientific information.
This book is for everyone- any age, and any level of fitness. Margaret carefully guides you through the theory and detailed explanation of each exercise. While Margaret's knowledge is a gift to each of us, we can share this with all of our friends and family that we care about. You can give this book to those who are already conscious of the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and those that you want to encourage to do a bit more.

I have been exercising with Ms. Richard since the late 80's when I was 22. I have always enjoyed her way of motivating the viewer to do what is good for them and the focus she has on correct form. She gives helpful reminders throughout the show and this book delivers pretty much the same helpful advice and the humor that is her trademark. I have fallen off the wagon every now and then, but I always go back to the Body Electric philosophy and techniques because they work! If you are fortunate enough to have the show on your PBS station, tape it like I do and benefit from the effective exercises she comes up with any time you want it. This woman is a walking advertisement of what discipline will reward you with - grace and strength. Viva Margaret Richard!

Forget all those fly by night fitness gurus - you want to get into shape? For life?

Then read this book!

Margaret Richards is the best - her workouts are safe, yet quite challenging - you WILL see results if you follow her program, I guarantee it!

And if you've never seen her show, "Body Electric" or worked out to any of her videos - do yourself a favor and either get one or tune in. You won't regret it!

I hope she writes another book - she's such an inspiration to so many women!

Everybody that has followed Margaret Richard's PBS program, Body Electric, knows that Margaret knows how to "keep it real"! I have been working out to Body Electric for over 20 years and I recommend this book to EVERY woman! Margaret proves that age is just a number and that all of us, as women, can age with grace and strength, no "fancy" equipment or gym membership is needed!

I can not believe after me working out with Margaret Richard from Pbs television someone else like amazon.com has finally found her, I must tell anyone who reads this, this women is amazing, I have done her workouts for over the last 20 yrs doing body toning from working out with her thats airs on Pbs, her show is called Body Electric, or I work out by buying her videos on .... Her workouts are easy, but challenging, no gym equipment neccessary, you mostly uses either your own body resistance, hand held weights, a floor mat, sometimes a chair, or a small ball. If you want a great work out when trying to body tone, that is easy to follow this is the women you want to work out with, and my personal favorite, her book is a must read! I only wish they would add her to espn or one of our fitness channel instead of just Pbs. It would also be nice to see more of her videos her on Amazon.

Having watched her program on a local PBS channel for many years, I was very happy to find a book which will guide me to stronger bones and muscles in my later years. These exercises are doable and the instructions are very clear and precise.
