About the Author

Sherri Dawson is a writer, lecturer and clinical hypnotherapist specializing in weight loss and behavior modification. She has helped people in all walks of life, from competitive weight lifters to housewives, in breaking through the barriers in their mind and achieving their goals.

She developed the principles of Body Esteem over the last twenty five years based on her work with clients. Her technique allows an individual to discover and resolve the particular obstacles they have constructed in their mind. By placing the responsibility for success back into the hands of the individual, a person is able to realize their own ability to accomplish their goals and dreams. This personal empowerment creates a ripple effect, improving all areas of their life.

She is committed to helping women succeed and regularly donates copies of her book to charity organizations.

I'm glad I found this book, it's amazing. It's more than a weight loss book, it gives you the the keys to makeover yourself from the inside out. Sherri shows you how to pin point and heal the negative "heavy" emotions. You also look at your behavior patterns, such as conditioned responses to situations, and find alternative, more positive ways the take back control in your life. It's full of Q&A and techniques to transform your self-image. The CDs that come with the book are a collection of guided visualization exercises. Rich and relaxing, they are an absolute delight. I especially love the "Adventure in Self-Love," "Set Yourself Free" and the relaxation tracks.

For the first time in a long time I'm feeling really good about myself and my future! It's such a different feeling then struggling to stay on a diet and berating myself the entire time.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Although I've just had this for a couple of weeks, I'm really happy with my purchase. This certainly isn't the usual weight loss book. This is a workbook that comes with two CD's and just the CDs alone would be worth the price. They are excellent. The voice on the CDs is so soothing and the journeys she takes you on are wonderful and very vivid. The workbook exercises and the CDs work together to help you connect with the deeper issues behind your behavior. It's working for me anyway, I've lost a couple of pounds and I'm not even "dieting." I just feel like taking better care of myself. I'd definitely recommend this book if you think emotional issues might be responsible for your weight.

This book was a Godsend for me. For the first time since I can remember I survived the holidays without gaining anything! And for me that is saying a lot. Holidays are always a stressful time full of parties and just the kind of food I turn for a little support.

After New Year's I always make the same resolution to lose weight. And every year I've lost some and gained it back (plus a few more and another dress size). Yet this year, thanks in large part to "Body Esteem," I know it's going to be different. I can feel it and I also have proof that I can do it (I still fit in my clothes and I've actually lost weight).

I haven't been able to do the book as much as I'd like, but I've been listening to the CDs almost every night all comfy in bed. I sometimes drift to sleep, which is great because I normally have a little difficulty getting to sleep anyway, but the messages are certainly sinking in. I'm not going to say its like magic, but it's really given me a new level of self-love and commitment to myself. And it's like I don't have to work at losing weight so much as I just want to take better care of my body.

There's a lot of good practical information as well as self-exploration exercises in the book, which I found very useful and the CDs are fantastic. I think anyone would benefit from this wonderful book.
