4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty functional, a little bulky, May 2, 2005

Got this a couple weeks ago. The rubber suit covers every bit of the phone so I am confident that I won't be getting any scratched. And it flips open a ok. You can attach the charger and data cable just fine but the ear peice jack seems a little scrunched. You can't access the TF card.

There is a strap that goes over the top so your v710 definitely isn't going to fall out.

3 minor qualms: The see through plastic has a little glare on it, especially when there is oil between the LCD and the suit. Also, it adds just enough weight that it flips open with a little knock. (noticed this most when having the phone horizontally mounted on my belt). Last, the flap sort of comes into the field of view of the camera. You already know the v710's camera is crap for its specs, but I occasionally have to hold down the little flap. I got used to it real quick.

3.0 out of 5 stars SCUBA Suit looks nice, but should protect better, December 12, 2005
This review is from: Body Glove Scuba II Cellsuit for Motorola V710 Black/Silver (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this case for the Motorola E815 (essentially the same phone as the V710 in terms of physical dimensions). Overall, I like the look of this "cellsuit". The PVC and clear plastic materials are of very good quality.

However, Body Glove has unfortunately considered appearance more important than function. The cellsuit's main purpose is to protect the phone from scratches. And although it does a VERY good job of protecting the internal surfaces while still preserving the usability of the phone, the corners of the phone are amazingly exposed.

I believe any phone case should protect the phone from nicks and scratches when dropped. I have dropped my phone 4 times over the last six months of use. And in 3 of those cases, the exposed corners of the phone were nicked and scratched because of the gaps in the cellsuit. I really do not understand why Body Glove did not consider this vulnerability. I want full protection for my phone, not just 85%.

Otherwise, this cellsuit has some nice qualities:
* The clear plastic sections are thick and uniform, so they protect without distorting the view of external and internal screens.
* The keyboard still works very well with the clear cover.
* It is fairly easy to remove the cellsuit without the distracting rip of velcro separation. The only trick is separating the plastic from the inner screen--it sticks really well to it.
* If you put screen protectors on, the cellsuit comes off very easily, but then the top part slides up when you open the phone (which masks the lid speaker). You need to use your index finger to pull the lid piece back down into position. I always recommend screen protectors, especially if you plan to use the phone without the case (such as when wearing a suit).
* If you do not want to clip the phone to your belt, you can pry out the clip nob on the back for a thinner profile (not documented, but can be done).

The negatives:
* The cellsuit does not protect the phone corners.
* The lid piece does not fit perfectly around the camera lens--you have to pull on it to make sure there are no obstructions when taking photos.
* The clip nob can slip around inside the case back, so the phone does not always lock into the notched position that you select.
* The phone holster clip has the release button at the bottom, so when you bend over the phone often unlatches and falls off. Couldn't they put the button on the side, instead of the top or bottom?

Overall, I like the look of the cellsuit but I would prefer better protection. I do not plan to replace the case, but I would not buy another until Body Glove makes a design improvement. I would, however, buy a Body Glove case for another phone if there is full protection provided.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it a LOT, August 12, 2005
This review is from: Body Glove Scuba II Cellsuit for Motorola V710 Black/Silver (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I was very pleased when I got this cell phone case. I was really frustrated with my phone before purchasing this case. I kept on getting the screens dirty every time I made a call. Guess I have oily ears or something. No worries now that I have this case.

The things I like about this case:
1.I think it looks cool -- which ... ok does mean something to me.
2.It feels good - it has kind of a rubber feel and the inside is cloth
3. It protects my phone - I have two boys and while they are supposed to not touch "dads phone" it has an almost 100% chance of getting dropped sooner or later.
4. Its not bulky.
5. Fits the phone 95% perfect.

The things I don't like:
1.Like the other guy mentioned the clear plastic covers the camera a little but not a big deal, camera is not so hot anyhow.
2. Earphone spot is awkward. Functional but not perfect.

So the GOOD far far outwieghs the bad. I have no buyers remorse and after surveying the options for the v710 I still think this is the best.
