These run in junior's sizes. I figured this out by purchasing my first from a brick & mortar store and realizing a 7-8 was considered a "medium" They work great as a rash guard shirt and should be ordered to fit like a glove (pardon the pun) Great swim/surf shirts if you get the right size.

Here's a cheat sheet to their sizing:
Size XS 3-4
Size S 5-6
Size M 7-8
Size L 9-10
Size XL 11-12

Like others who reviewed this product, I found the sizing too small. I wear XS, and bought an XS. The body fit tightly (like it's supposed to, gets looser in the water), but the sleeves came up about 1-2 inches too short. I also got a small, which was close fitting enough with good length in the sleeves.
Bottom line, if you want tight, you can go with the size you normally wear but it wouldn't be easy to get into, otherwise, get one size up

These rash guards DO run small, and are a bit short as far as arm and torso length (I'm 5'4", and about 128 pounds and the arm length isn't long enough for me) but the snug fit IS great if you are a competitive swimmer who needs a rash guard with NO drag and doesn't chafe in the process. These particular rash guards are really designed to be form-fitting to create less drag in the water for swimmers and athletes. They DO make rash guards with a lot more "room", and the way to tell is by looking at the product picture. If it hugs the torso in the product picture, it's designed to be skin tight like a bathing suit, not like a shirt. I hope that makes sense.

I get a size SMALL in these (usually wear an 8-12 in clothes) and it fits just about right for me. It's comfortable, but tight enough that it creates very little drag when I swim. I swim in the hot Florida sun, two miles a day, 365 days a year, so I desperately needed something to help keep the sun off my skin.

Because of the short arms and the fact that the rash guard will sometimes not cover the small of my back, I tried other brands (Dakine was the latest) to get a little more coverage. It was a mistake- I got horrible burns and irritations at the seams. Body Glove's products are built really well in that regard- even though I wear my rash guard skin tight, the seams NEVER irritate my skin.

I'm not a total believer that the rash guard presents as much UV protection as it claims- I still get a pretty good tan when I wear mine every single day. But I think anything is a help.

It's also nice and light, very easy to wash/rinse by hand and drip dry, and easy to tote around and pack. It's a nice soft material.

It's not the best rash guard I've ever worn (I had one from Rip Curl that was a better fit, better at UV, but I can't find that particular model anymore :() but it's very high up there. I recommend it for swimmers needing some extra UV protection without chafing and drag.

Ordered this for my wife for a trip we were taking going scalloping, and knew our pale skin would be in the sun for 8-10 hours. I ordered one size larger than normal as the other reviews suggested, and it fit her great. It worked as expected and she commented it was very comfortable to wear the entire day. At the end of the trip we thought it had gotten lost and we were pretty bummed and were actually going to re-order the same one to replace it, but luckily found it. I'd order another in a heartbeat.

I wore this shirt when we went to Crystal Springs, FL to swim with the manatees. The water was 72, so I felt a little bit protected from the cool water (probably my imagination that it was keeping me warm). It was good protection from the sun, so saved on sunscreen that day. I thought the shirt was too small when I first put it on, but was glad it was tight while snorkeling. I plan to wear it again when the water in the gulf gets chilly.

I typically wear an extra small so I thought the small would work well, but it fit so tightly I was afraid it would cut off circulation. The medium is perfect; very snug, as a rash guard should be.

Otherwise, this is a great shirt. I have lupus and must stay covered in the sun- I swim laps in this shirt several times a week and it's still going strong. I might even order it in a different color next year.

Fits perfect. I wear a small normally and I ordered a small and it fits. Keeps me warm while I teach swim lessons.

I ordered an xsmall and although everyone said to order a size bigger it fit me perfectly. the material fits snugly but its breathable. Good order!

Quick shipping. This is juniors shirt and fits accordingly. The graphic was slightly different on the picture and the shirt I received, which was a little of a bummer, but overall the shirt and vendor were great.

It is very high quality. I am 5ft 7 inches and weigh 134 lbs. I ordered a XL and it fits perfect in length and sleeves. It came in the mail within 4 days.
