Book Description

August 1, 1997 From star to cell : a sound structure for the twenty-first century
Musician/composer and acupuncturist, Fabien Maman, is considered the founding father of vibrational sound therapy (Websters ). In 1977, as an acupuncturist, he pioneered the elegant, non-invasive technique of using tuning forks and color lights on acupuncture points instead of needles. His revolutionary sound/cellular biology experiments in the early 80s, showing the impacts of acoustic sound on human cells, shaped the landscape of vibrational sound healing as we know it today.
Fabien Maman s Book III of his Star to Cell Series is a compilation of his more than twenty years of sound and acupuncture research, focusing specifically on his evolutionary tuning fork techniques, such as Tuning Forks on the Acupuncture Command Points (Shu Points®), Tuning Forks on the ear points; and Tuning Forks on the Musical Spine®.
As with all his books, Maman s techniques cover a broad spectrum from the cellular level to the cosmos. On a physical level, we learn the Law of the 5 Elements, based on Chinese Medicine and the Organic Psychology of the Chinese Temperaments. We follow Maman s research as he starts with the 5 notes of the Chinese Five Elements and ends up creating the 12 notes of the acupuncture meridians, which correspond to the twelve organs of the body. With, Kototama, the ancient Science of Pure Sound, we learn Maman's sound protocol to empower our organs outside the physical body. Our consciousness rises with the Spiritual Aspects of the 5 Shen and Maman s unique form of Celestial Acupuncture: The Law of the 8 Elements and his Spiritual Chart of Divination.
So deep is Maman s research, each chapter could be a book unto itself. In The Law of the 8 Elements, for example, Maman, dissatisfied with the limitations of the Law of the 5 Elements, creates an 'evolutionary' sound protocol for 3 additional elements, to address the spiritual aspect of the human being.
Maman s techniques and frequency systems, although revolutionary in thought, are painstakingly exact in practice. Each technique took nearly seven years to test and apply.
Maman demands absolute discipline and honesty in the field of vibrational research. Being intuitive is not enough. Research means going into the laboratory and corroborating one's work on a cellular level.
Complex, yet simple, Fabien Maman has developed an entire Sound Structure for the Twenty-First Century, grounded in the physical laws of nature, the five elements, Chinese medicine and music theory. There is a beauty and harmony to this work. Like the way of the Tao, everything flows when there is harmony.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Fabien Maman is certainly a pioneer of vibratory medicine…
As an acupuncturist, I found the association of tuning forks and acupuncture to be amazingly powerful without using needles….His genius idea is that the tail of the tuning fork transmits the vibration to the meridian, cell and DNA, while the resonance of the fork itself, (the other end) transmits the same message to the counterpart of the meridian - the energy field, in order to erase the source of the negative patterns, which, over time, can duplicate in the physical body. This is such a brilliant idea!
In addition, Fabien Maman has opened an entirely new therapeautic horizon with his Law of the Eight Elements. Here he continues the relationship between sound and acupuncture by offering a new paradigm, a sort of "celestial acupuncture." His is an original approach, while at the same time respecting the ancestral Laws of Acupuncture." --Dominique Eraud, MD, Acupuncturist, Paris, France

"….originally a jazz musician, Fabien Maman was attracted to the Oriental martial art of Aikido, and was able to study with Sensei Nakazano in Paris, France many years ago (1975). While studying with this famous Japanese master, he also undertook study of Nakazano's system of acupuncture, based on the classical Nan Jing style.
Combining his love for music with the classical approach to acupuncture channels and the art of meridian balance, Fabien Maman developed a method of treating acupuncture channel imbalances with various tuning forks and overhead chimes. This original approac has become the inspiration for many other teaachers exploring the use of sound on healing.
Applying sound therapy to acupuncture theory is a perfect match. Classical acupuncture texts such as the Nei Jing (oldest existent copy from 173 BC) and the Nan Jing (180 AD) describe in detail the relationship of acupuncture channels and points to regulating the health of the human body.
Subsequent clinical practice (as well as modern research) has verified the fundamental truths of this marvelous system. It is probable that ancient Chinese were aware of the effects of musical notes on the acupuncture network, although this material does not survive in a clinically applicable method.
Fabien Maman has truly done something unique and possibly beneficial to modern society in a way as yet unknown: he has created a system of clinical application of music and musical notes to affect the health and well-being of the human body, mind and spirit…" --Jake Paul Fratkin, OMD, L.Ac., Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Licensed Acupuncturist, Boulder Colorado

About the Author

Musician/composer, acupuncturist, martial artist and energy researcher Fabien Maman is considered the founding father of vibrational sound therapy (Websters ). After a successful career as a jazz musician, in 1977 Maman became an acupuncturist, linking music with acupuncture. He created the now famous system which uses tuning forks and color lights instead of needles on acupuncture command points.
In the early 80s, Maman conducted his revolutionary sound/cellular biology experiments documenting the impacts of sound on human cells. For the first time under a microscope, Maman proved that acoustic sound can revitalize healthy cells as well as destroy cancer cells.
This became the driving theory behind Maman s work: that blockages in our subtle energy fields can result in physical illness if they are allowed to crystallize, and Sound, Color and Movement® are the most effective tools we can use to dissolve negative energetic patterns.
In 1988 Maman founded Tama-Do, ( The Way of the Soul ), The Academy of Sound, Color and Movement®, offering trainings for the evolution of conscousness using non-invasive vibrational techniques composed of Sound, Color and Movement® and Seasonal Harmonizing Concerts®.
For nearly 30 years, Maman has created research and practical applications to balance the body, mind and spirit through the subtle energy fields. He has created more than 30 techniques through the Academy, each of which took nearly seven years to test and apply.
Maman is the author of a series of four books: From Star to Cell: A Sound Structure for the Twenty-First Century . These books include: The Role of Music in the Twenty-First Century , Raising Human Frequencies The Way of Chi and The Subtle Bodies , The Body as a Harp Sound and Acupuncture and Healing with Sound, Color and Movement Nine Revolutionary Healing Techniques. His fifth book, just released, is Accessing the Way of the Soul through Color. Maman, who teaches and lectures around the world, has numerous CDs and videos as well. 800.615.3675.
