Book Description

February 28, 2006
Andi O'Rourke is a fire chief and a darned good one, one of only a handful of women in the U.S. to make it. Raised in a family of fire fighters, she's a natural, barking out orders and keeping her guys safe at the same time; and her big, tough guys respect her, treating her just like one of them. Away from her job, though, Andi doesn't have a clue how to handle herself with men. That's why arson investigator Tucker Fields is so dangerous, and so tempting. Tucker is no slap-you-on-the-back kind of guy; he's all man. A man who makes Andi feel sexy, alive, desired. Tucker likes what he sees in Andi. He loves her passion, and her strength. That sizzling sexuality she tries to hide. He sees the ribbing she takes from the guys if she even puts on lipstick. To prove herself in a man's world, Andi has had to fight being a woman. But she's not the only one who knows how to give orders. As they spend days and nights on his investigation, Tucker's determined to start a fire of a different kind, releasing Andi's every inhibition and enticing her into losing all control as he shows her just how delicious being a woman can be...and how good love can feel...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Definite Winner!, March 5, 2006
This review is from: Body Heat (Paperback)
Andi O'Rourke was raised in a totally male family of firefighters, so it's no surprise that she's one of the few female fire chiefs. But it's hard to maintain her feminity in a job where she has to be one of the guys. When arson investigator Tucker Fields walks into her fire station, Andi is stunned by the way he makes her feel. Tucker wants Andi from almost the moment he meets her. However her job means that if they are to become involved, they will have to keep their relationship quiet so that the men in her firehouse won't know. As the fire burns hotter and hotter between them, Andi is forced to face the fact that she likes how she feels when she's with Tucker. But once Tucker's arson investigation is finished, he's going to be leaving for another investigation in another city. Can they both take a chance on a relationship?

I've been reading Katherine Garbera's books since she began writing Silhouette Desires. I have always enjoyed them, but with Body Heat Ms. Garbera proves that she's got what it takes! The relationship between Tucker and Andi is sexy and emotionally satisfying. Both are characters who aren't sure they want to have a true relationship, but can't help falling in love with each other. Add to this the hint of upcoming stories for Andi's brothers, and Body Heat is a definite winner!

5.0 out of 5 stars Its a scorcher...., March 20, 2006
By
Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Body Heat (Paperback)
Body Heat by Katherine Garbera is an intense tale of firefighters and their lives.

Andi O'Roarke is unique in her chosen field, she is a fire chief and a woman to boot. Andi prides herself on not letting her being a female get in the way of her doing her job. When there are some questionable fires in her district she if forced to hire outside help. This help comes in the package of all male arson investigator Tucker Fields. Tuck brings out the feminine side of Andi that she didn't know she processed.

Tucker Fields excels at his job, he loves putting all the clues together to solve the case. But he is perplexed by his intense feelings and desires for Andi. However the more they have to work together on solving the arsons in her town he fears his love them and leave them way of life is at an end.

Tucker and Andi are equals on the job and in the bedroom. Their chemistry is as hot as any fire they would be called to on the job. Each brings out something special in the other.

Body Heat was the first book I read by this author and I was delightfully pleased. The sexual heat was off the chart and the emotional tug of the characters kept me reading well into the night. Looking forward to the next book by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling romance, April 12, 2006
This review is from: Body Heat (Paperback)
Andi O'Rourke is a fire chief in mid Florida. She has fought hard and long to raise to the level she is, especially in the firefighting legacy family as she has. But, along the way she has forgotten how to not be "just one of the guys" and people see her just that way. She also only dates guys who she can walk all over and who don't understand her.

Tucker Field is a guy's guy who knows what he wants and goes after it. One thing he doesn't want is to settle down as he is determined not to repeat the sins of his father and walk out on a woman and child.

Tucker is brought in to Andi's firehouse to help solve an arson investigation. Tucker is known as a genius in solving fire mysteries. But, he takes one look at Andi and a second pursuit is undertaken. There is a little fire investigation in the book but the majority of the remainder of the book deals with Andi and Tuckers relationship. Can Andi let her guard down to really let Tucker in and will that scare him away?
