Feel-good love story.

It got to the point where I would skim the descriptions and just find the celebrity name just to get to the next paragraph.

I can usually finish a book this size in 3-4 hours, instead it took me 2 days.

Body Heat by Susan Fox
Maura decides to catch up on work as she's doing not only her job but others. The community service man is shown in, as he gets off his motorcycle and is in black leather-the bad boy. To stay out of jail he has to give so many hours to the retirement center, where she does not only HR work but the accounting.
As he doesn't want to read to the residents she comes up with sprucing up the garden and he jumps at the idea. Can't wait to hear about what he does to rejuvenate it. I love gardening and as they butt heads over details I'm sure this is going to be a steamy read. Hope it will give me more ideas for the center as
we do travel to visit with my husband's mother every sunday to spend time with her. Gardens there are such a peaceful part of her time there.
While he works at gardening she can watch him from her office window and often fantasizes about him. He is having a hard time focusing on his work because her looks have turned him on.
He looks after Con and her son and gets to spend family time with them although they are not related. We find out the dark secret Jessie is hiding behind. He finds ways to keep it hidden as he's done in the past.
When he pays her a compliment they kiss and then she wakes up to the reality of what they've done. He's a worker for her and they crossed the line. He understands they can't be a couple yet because of her potential promotion and also because of his community service. They just have to wait it out...
Love hearing of all the plans and ideas for the senior home garden area, and learning about the tools of the trade.
This book needs a 'blazing hot' sticker on the front cover, whew...
When the jewels go missing Maura and Jesse both are the main suspects...
The book also has an except for Susan's latest: Yours, Unexpectedly

The theme of opposites being attracted is delightfully carried out in BODY HEAT, where unanticipated feelings surface and passions continuously rise. Susan Fox manages to make her story erotic yet also emotional, as desire often clashes with personal beliefs.

When Maura Mahoney turns thirty, she realizes her life is rather dull and those with whom she associates outside work are always studious types who are also unexciting. While she does enjoy her career working as an accountant at the Cherry Lane retirement facility, she is hoping to one day become its general manager and knows this will require improvement in how she communicates with others. A situation develops that will have Maura briefly managing the center, and one of her first duties is to supervise a man who will be doing community service there.

To dodge being sent to jail, Jesse Blue has agreed to work at Cherry Lane for a certain amount of time. When he is introduced to Maura, they each make deductions about the other based on looks and her thoughts are not at all positive. They come to the conclusion he can turn the courtyard into an area much more enjoyable, and he is given several tasks to complete. As she watches him through her office window, Maura imagines herself being with the very virile man. However, she has always followed the rules and lets them dictate her life, so becoming involved with someone like Jesse can never be more than a vision in her mind.

Fervent fantasies become reality in BODY HEAT, and Susan Fox creatively makes these sexual encounters steamy plus emotional. Ms. Fox excels at delving into the lives of her characters and exposing their innermost dreams, whether they relate to intimate longing or pertain to upcoming events.

Contemporary Romance Nov 27th, 2012
4 stars

A no-nonsense, straight-laced heroine finds herself tempted by a young and sexy `bad-boy' with a record.

Dull, by-the-book Maura Mahoney has just turned thirty. Raised by her emotionally distant aunt and uncle when her parents died Maura has experienced little real affection. While they do care for Maura they lead lives as academics and brought her up in a strict and cold environment driven by professional success. Both worry she won't find someone so they continuously throw conservative if boring men at her. But Maura can't seem to find the energy to get interested in any. In contrast, her work at the senior home thrills her more. Although she loves her job, Maura feels that she should be more successful and wants to apply to be the new director. But that means working with people and overseeing the demands of the center. When her co-worker goes on leave and asks Maura to take charge of their newest volunteer. Maura agrees. But she doesn't realize that this new volunteer is a sexy madman on a motorcycle with a record. Nor does she expect her heated response to the Latin Lothario! Jesse Blue is younger and just not her type at al?! He is volunteering his services in exchange for not going to jail. But wild Jesse has a heart of gold he hides behind his swagger and when he starts to build a new garden for the seniors and befriends them he melts Maura heart and fires her dormant libido. But what happens when Jesses is accused of thievery and the conservative Maura is his only alibi? Will she sacrifice her job and reputation for him?

This charming and sexy story about two people who are drawn together even as they feel they are worlds apart.
