It worked! I was able to drop 10 lbs in the 2 weeks and I'm still going strong. Since I'm in my late 40's and haven't exercised in quite a few years, I was cautious, but the work out routines are challenging enough so I won't get bored yet not so difficult that I want to give up right away. Totally dissatisfied with this latest from Jorge! There are several errors in the book which a good editor would have caught (page #'s in text referring to prior and future topics are incorrect, the bodyathome website does NOT have downloadable logs for exercies as stated, etc.) and the needed equipment is not something the average exerciser would have at home. I went to order the resistance bands he recommends and they were nowhere to be found even though he states on p. 40 that "my picks are available at BodyatHome.com." As a woman in my 6th decade, the exercise routines in "8 Minutes in the Morning" are more do-able. The best advice I got from this book was to STOP EATING STARCHY CARBS AFTER LUNCH. If you are wanting a better, faster and more easily incorporated workout along with great nutritional guidelines, go with "8 Minutes in the Morning" (also recommend his book "The 3-Hour Diet"). "Body at Home" is a sub-par effort from Jorge.

First, the great: the diet and nutrition recommendations for attacking belly fat are on target. Jorge gives this info away free, however. It's part of his worthy campaign to eliminate this big threat to our health

When the book gets into the strengthening and conditioning, there are some major problems. For example, I did not notice a caution about consulting your doctor before beginning this training regime. If itis there (and I only read the men's section), it isn't highlighted and emphasized. I never found it. Equally important to safeguarding health, no warm-up procedures are evident. Again, IF they are there, they are not prominently displayed. I may be out of shape (not so much for 70), but I've had enough experience and training to know that warming up is vital. If for some reason that escapes me this isn't necessary for "controlled tension" exercises, than that needs to be explained. Until then, warm up first!

That being said, I like the controlled tension exercises, and I like the variety of exercises. I particularly like that you can get a good workout in half an hour that feels equivalent to a more tradional resistance workout twice as long or more. With the caveats herein, consider this plan. Done right, it should produce results without harm.

This DVD is essentially a follow-up to Jorge Cruise's "12 Second Sequence" workout DVD.

"Body at Home" uses slow cadence lifting and static contraction in the workouts.

There is a recovery stretch after each workout, which gives you a chance to stretch after each workout section (four repititions of one exercise, then a 30 second recovery stretch).

You work the legs, shoulders and abs, it is a complete workout.

I recommend getting a balance ball and smaller weights with the workout (although these are not required, it is easier if you have these items to follow along).

I also recommend Jorge's "Belly Fat Cure" (which is essentially minimizing sugar intake) available on Jorge's website.

So far this year, I have lost about 15 lbs. following the "Belly Fat Cure" and using Jorge's workout DVD's.

My only (minor) criticism is that his audio commentary could have used some better editing.

But overall this is a very good workout, he recommends you do the three 20 minute workouts over a week (for example, one 20 minute workout on Monday, one on Wednesday and one on Friday).

I purchased this book after having purchased the 12 second sequence book also by jorge cruise.Each time I have been led to believe by Mr cruise that this is the ultimate workout,in the 12 second sequence he states that twice a week for twenty minutes is the best way to get the best body however in this new book its 3 times a week for over 30 minutes.It is very difficult to trust this guy he seems to change his story with each book stating that a monday wed friday plan is what he follows which goes against what he said in 12 second sequence in which he says twice a week with two days between workouts!I just really dont know what to believe with this guy!He now promotes 15 grmas of sugar or less perday and 6 carb portion of no more than 20 grams each but in the recent past he sold Jorge Cruise shakes in a can that had massive amounts of sugar way more than 15 grams in just one shake!!!!I have had it with this guy some of his ideas are great but he just seems like a huckster!!!!

I think Jorge Cruise is wonderful, and his advice to cut sugar and carbs works for me. But this book is just a description of simple exercises to do with bands and an exercise ball. It would be fine for someone who's never used this equipment, but for a "gym rat" like me it was not very helpful.

I had not heard of Jorge Cruise before I read his book, since I have read every weight-loss books that comes out, why not this one. I was hoping something would click this time. Well, I truly enjoyed the practicallity of this book. I think I got it - same message but stated so logically that it really hit home this time. What I got from it was that I can eat my regular foods just use portion control. Great, Great! form for tracking what you eat. He gives you the portion - you fill in the blank. I have memorized the form and it really works for me. I have been following the princples and I have lost 6 pounds. It just makes sense and gives structure.

I'm very unhappy with this book. While I appreciate the workout plans, none of these exercises tells you the areas they target - so I've got to put blind faith into doing this versus trying to target the areas I would like to tone. Had I know this, I would not have made the purchase. It seems ludicrous to have any exercise book/weight lifting plan without identifying the muscles worked.
