5.0 out of 5 stars *Captivating*
First of all, Boney James should not be compared to Kenny G at any time for any reason. He clearly deserves better. This CD is simply captivating. Boney clearly exhibits all of his talent, creativity, and artistry in every song. though when it comes to Jazz I prefer Older Jazz Artists I did check out this disc.and it was Pretty Good.I really dug his version of Janet Jackson's I Get Lonely.Lovefest&Are you ready are cool.but this ALbum does suffer from too much Appeal.he does at times sound Like Kenny G.but I can Listen to Him overall.

First of all, Boney James should not be compared to Kenny G at any time for any reason. He clearly deserves better. This CD is simply captivating. Boney clearly exhibits all of his talent, creativity, and artistry in every song. Just listen to those sweet flutters and flurries in the song "Body Language" which is sultry and seductive, to the passionite groove of Boney's Saxophone conversation with Rick Braun's Horn on "Boneyizm." Take a chance and get "Into The Blue." This song which is full of R&B, Soul, and Rock is going to keep this CD in the top 10 for a very, very long time. It has the best mixture of Saxophone, piano and drums. Boney is consistent throughout the CD. Every song is performed purely from the heart. The song "All Night Long" will only remind you to hit the repeat button several more times. There is a wonderful blend of talent that will be found in every song. This is a great CD for any Smooth Jazz fan. Boney's style will sneak up on you and it will never leave.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boney at his BEST!, December 23, 1999

After being disapointed by Boney's "Sweet Thing" cd, I wasn't all that eager to pick up this cd. But after hearing "I will always love you", I had to run out and get this cd. And I love it! Boney's rendition of Janet's "I get lonely" is all that, and then some. But his cut "bedtime story" will have you lighting scented candles and snuggling up to your honey(or wishing you had a honey!)Not a single cut disapoints. Boney is better than ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful smooth jazz classic!, August 31, 2004
This review is from: Body Language (Audio CD)
Gosh! Has it been more than five full years since this album came out? It feels like yesterday when I blasted this CD in my car stereo when driving near Mt. Vernon near D.C. and the lovely melodies came out of the speakers and I have never forgotten the wonderful experience of that night.

This CD by the way is absolutely wonderful to listen to and has all of the punch that it had back when it was released back in early 1999. Every song is great. "Are You Ready" is pure musical ecstacy with it's seductive saxophone and beautiful soulful style. Included on here is a wonderful cover version of Janet Jackson's 1998 hit "I Get Lonely" which is really wonderful. Both the original and Boney James' versions are great. The album closes with the seductive groove "All Night Long".

5.0 out of 5 stars Contemporary Jazz At It's Finest, February 24, 2001
By A Customer

Though five stars is all this review will allow....in my book, Body Language easily rates a ten.

Boney James is at his best combining a melodic blend of vocals and sax, churning out the smoothest, groovinest, (if that's a word) sweetest sounds you'll enjoy listening to over and over again. The CD is equipped with beautifully composed lyrics and instumental music that you can't help but snap your fingers too.

Boney is an extremely talented musician, who compares to none. His style is distinctive and unique, soulful and oooh sooooo smooooth. He is in a league all his own, clearly at the top of his craft and my list as one of the best saxophonists of this era.

It boggles the mind that you can actaully buy used CDs of this album, becuase I cannot understand why anyone whose owned and listened to this CD would actually part with it. This is one of the best albums Boney James has ever done, second only to Pure. Boneyism is a decent song, but not quite as good as everything else, so I gave this CD 4 stars. My personal favorites are the title track, Bedtime Story, and Lovefest, mostly because of the awesome string arrangement that starts it off. I advise anyone who doesn't already have this CD to go pick it up. It's definitely worth the money.

If you like a mixture of soothing jazz with contemporary jazz, you MUST get Boney James' "Body Language". It does not disappoint - from his version of Janet Jackson's "I Get So Lonely" to his "Boneyizm", you will play this CD over and over again. Also a must listen: "I'll Always Love" with lead vocals from Shai. This CD a regular play in my 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier's CD player - in stressful, hardworking Washington, DC, this CD is greatly recommended; especially if you are commuting here to the Capitol on the Beltway, I-395, or on I-295. This CD will pump you up, but soothes you at the same time :)

I heard the song Body Language and I had to have this CD. Body Language, is one the best jazz CDs, I have heard in a long time. I can truly say that all of the songs are enjoyable. Especially Body Language, Boney's saxophone playing on this song is so relaxing that you can hear this song in your sleep and keep grooving.

This is the perfect CD to listen to if you are in love, out of love or thinking about falling back into love. It is so smooth! Even if it's your 90th time re-playing "I'll Always Love You", it's like the first time. Can't wait for his next album...

Forget everything you thought you knew about music, specifically the saxophone. Buy this recording -- yes, just plain BUY it -- and listen to one cut, titled "Boneyism." Then listen to the rest. Catch Rick Braun on horn in the background. This artist speaks an essential language. Just as Jorge Luis Borges understood the astonishing, revealing labyrinths of language, so does Boney James, in his own deep, celebratory art. This astonishing music! Can you imagine being so moved and so swept away by an artist who truly understands? Can you surrender to this passion, this beauty, this truth? Will you? Please do. Yes, please do.
