I purchased this locally for $100 at the Academy. When at the store I tested the floor model out gave it a bit of a hang and a swing here and there. It was a bit creaky and I could probably tip it over(assuming that's what I was trying to do) but as most exercise needs to be controlled, I'm not too worried about that. The main reason I purchased this was for p90x. Most of the doors in my house have a wall too close to one side or the other to use a door hanging style pull-up bar and because I am 250 lbs and 6'3" I didn't feel comfortable spending $60 for the P90x one when I wasn't sure how well it would work for me. The Only suggestion I have for anyone who buys it is to not tighten any of the hardware completely until the product is fully assembled I did and had to take it half way apart to get some of the holes to line up. overall it's pretty simple to Put together a 13mm 14mm wrench/ratchet and a Phillips screwdriver is all it takes. Personally I used a Torque wrench to tighten everything down,(10 ft/lbs seemed good to me) going over all the bolts a few times to make sure everything was secure. After I had finished assembling it I gave it a little test run everything feels good It doesn't creak or lean as the floor model did (I'm assuming the one there was pretty old/abused and the hardware may have been loose)The price and the fact I could pick it up locally really made the decision. I read the other reviews and wondered how incredibly tight the guy who broke the hardware must have been turning it, or how some of the hardware could be missing when it seemed pretty well secured in my box. Either way I give it a 5 because It serves the purpose I bought it for.

Body Champ Power Tower is one of the best around! I looked around for several months and finally found this one at a local Academy Sports and Outdoors for $100!! Best quality and price, can't beat it! I knew I wanted to test it out in person to make sure it was sturdy enough to not shake while performing pull-ups, chin-ups, and dips, which it was.. One of the best pieces of equipment I own. Performing body weight excersises are some of the hardest to do and I am noticing more soreness/growth with body weight + weight workouts rather then weights alone.
This was also very easy to put together, maybe an hour?
I also like that the pull-up bar is opposite from the dip station, so when you are performing pull-ups the dip station doesn't get in the way.. good luck!

I've had this about 2 months. I'm 5'10" 140#, and it works great for my size/weight. I use it every other day. So far it has held solid as a rock, and that's with me using an additional 25# when I workout. So, you know, do the math (140+25) LOL. I got it from Academy ($100) because my brother got one there (he is bigger than me, and he checked out many prior to purchase). Clearly it is the best bang for buck. This thing will last forever. But it does take some time and patience to put it together. It's worth it. You can't beat it...unless you find one already assembled!!! :D Happy working out!

I bought this when the price dropped to $170... you get what you pay for. The build material is thin-walled metal, large diameter (about 2 inches), light but not super-strong. If you weight more than 200 lbs this is going to be scary to use, especially the dip bars. I wish I had held out for a square-tubed setup instead.

All that being said, this is a serviceable unit. The padding plates are decent, and the extra padded grips on the pull-up bar (in addition to the lat bar handles) are a nice extra.
I would recommend this for those on a tight budget who need a set of grown-ups' monkey bars, but if you have the extra cash there are better units out there.

Bought this at academy for 99$ don't br a fool shop around.... I am pleased with this product, though they could have used heavier gauge tubing for it. Holds up well, but if your 300+ lbs. Look for a heavier duty one.

After a bit of use, i can say this is a decently sturdy tower. I am 6'2 and can use everything (i don't use the pushup handles) easily. I also weight slightly above 250 right now, and when using the dip bars the tower flexes slightly, but nothing that worries me. Setup was easy, delivery was fast, you can slide it on smooth concrete fine, it also doesn't slide on its own.

My only dislike is the back rest for the ab rest. I think if i leaned back into decently hard, i could snap the top half off.

I'ver been working out on one of these for about a month. There are more excercises that you can perform that are not mentioned in the instruction book. Like hanging from the middle bar by the backs of your legs. This will burn your hamstrings quickly. Hanging by your toes and calves will burn your thighs and glutes. All of the anti-gravity exercises tighen your abs. I started noticing a 6-pack within a few weeks. ABSOULUTELY THE BEST MUSCLE BUILDER IN THE SHORTEST LENGTH OF TIME !
