The Long String Instrument, December 9, 2000

The fact that The Long String Instrument makes for a gorgeous experience in a live performance is no reason to hesitate in buying this album. The music is simply beautiful. Like the instrument itself, the longer pieces on this CD are expansive, proceeding in a stately fashion, allowing the listener to soak up the timbral/harmonic effects. The shorter pieces tend to be quieter, almost timid. Though less interesting to me in their own right, they make fine interludes between the other tracks.
