WOW the quality and packaging on this product are amazing AND shipping was very fast BUT the instructions/directions for a $2,500 product were aweful! I am no rocket scientist but I think that I can now build one after this experience! It took probably 10 hours to put together and it could have been upto 2 hrs less with good instructions to where I didnt have to guess or remove bolts later. Anyways that is the only downside, this product is membership gym quality and I love it.

This is a great gym, and shipping was fast. It comes in several boxes so it's easier to move to where it's going to live in your house. It's very sturdy and allows 2 people to work out at the same time.

The machine allows for good range of motion and the stacked weights offer resistance through the entire excersize. You won't get this in a Bowflex machine.

Two things to know if you consider buying this product. 1) I read reviews before I decided to buy, and it is true the directions are lacking. I found that laying out the pieces in an open area (in the same layout found in the directions) made it easier for me to put everything together. I was able to assemble it in about 6 hours.

2) The pull-up/ab add-on is not worth the price. You can save $150 to get a stand alone that offers tricep dips too.

If you need a serious machine, and don't like messing with the gym, then this is the one. You can go cheaper...but you'll also get what you paid for. Specifically, you won't get the many different excersizes offered in this machine.

I bought this for my office. One of the weights was broken in shipping at no fault of the company I ordered from. They still replaced it for free and didn't even charge me to ship it. It is my belief that you can order from this company and not worry about anything. They took care of me with no hassles!!!!

I've owned this gym for several years. It will fill a room. It is made very well and I've never had trouble with it. I've even moved with it. The exercise stations are well designed and cover all of the major muscle groups with plenty of range and weight. You wont need a gym membership if you have one of these.

I purchased this unit from a Elementary School that sadly they needed the class space over having something nice for the kids to get a work-out. Took apart in the parking lot, traveled 400 miles back to my place and re-assembled. I have a squat rack/bench (GPR370) from Body Solid, and leg ext/leg curl (GCEC340) cam by Body Solid as well. I have been very happy with the durability of their products. With my previous items they were all Olympic weights that takes time away from getting a quick work out in as we change out weights between my wife and myself. With this EXM-3000 unit simple weight change and away you go. Ability to have 2 users on this at the same time is very helpful as my kids (3 and 6 yrs old) get older they will want to work out at the same time which this unit allows.

Question to the users who have this unit. Could you tell me what is on the DVD and Work out poster. I'm tempted on buying these as the school "lost" them between the classroom and my picking up the unit. Replacement parts are no problem from Body Solid including these two items, but not sure what the DVD is about as replacement cost is $20 for the DVD and $10 for the poster. Poster I am likely going to purchase but the DVD I'm not sure what it shows to know if it would even be used.

Zerk grease fittings on the leg press, quiet operation and well designed. As noted the instructions are better called diagrams showing how it is assembled. Take your time and follow the instructions and you will be find putting together. I have not worked for NASA, but I find with as many parts are on this unit build it in sections. I would add the weights towards the end of the process (just before putting the pulleys on) so if you need to move it slightly as you have the stations you can still do so (if your space might be tight).

High Level: Very high quality home gym for those of us too lazy to go to a public gym. Difficult to assemble, even for someone very handy, but worth it in the end. Very happy with the product.

Delivery: Amazon has other vendors here which you can purchase it from, choose wisely. The product was delivered freight to my house in an 18 Wheeler. They delivered this in about 15 boxes total, minimum weight for each box was about 30lbs but i suspect the average weight of each box was 60lbs+. So you get quite a workout just getting it into your house, never mind assembly and the real workouts. The freight company called me the day before and arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. The product came mostly intact, there was a small scratch on one item, but smartly Body Solid includes touch up paint. Now it looks 100% again.

Location and Assembly: We are placing this gym in our basement. Which has a ceiling height of 88" So we were cutting it close. But so far so good, no reason to need any extra height beyond the product specs. (Though we don't have the knee raise attachment VKR30) doesn't seem even with that you'd go higher than the product specs.

We ordered 2 sets of mats for 12 pieces total from here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EJPGG4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 they fit it exactly, as you can barely make out from the photograph. Not the best quality mats out there, but enough to keep the impressions down on the carpet.

Assembly, use the .9 instructions shipped with the product. The link on this page is outdated, .8 instructions. What can i say, assembly is difficult. And i'm saying this as someone extremely handy that rebuilds car motors, assembles things from Ikea with ease. It's just a lot of parts and takes time.
