5.0 out of 5 stars sturdy and effective
I purchased this item a few weeks ago and it is working out great.

The item was very easy to assemble and it seems very sturdy. I have a 5-50 hex dumbbell set on the rack and there is a little room to spare. I have 5s, 10s, 15s, and 20s on the top rack. There is a little extra room on the top rack. On the middle rack I have my 25s, 30s and 35s. There was...

2.0 out of 5 stars Among the WORST packaging I have ever seen, good job!
The shipping time was longer than usual for this product. It was the free shipping option, so normally I wouldn't mind the wait, but there was no tracking information given. Come on, its the year 2011 giving your customers a tracking number is standard practice.

The rack itself looks good, however I can't really comment on it's quality because I can't put it...

5.0 out of 5 stars sturdy and effective, February 9, 2008
This review is from: Body Solid GDR363 3-Tier Horizontal Dumbbell Rack (Sports)
I purchased this item a few weeks ago and it is working out great.

The item was very easy to assemble and it seems very sturdy. I have a 5-50 hex dumbbell set on the rack and there is a little room to spare. I have 5s, 10s, 15s, and 20s on the top rack. There is a little extra room on the top rack. On the middle rack I have my 25s, 30s and 35s. There was actually enough extra room on the middle rack to hold an extra 35 lb dumbbell. On the bottom rack I have 40s, 45s and 50s (The bottom rack does not have any extra space.)

The only issue I had was that the item was not packaged effectively. I say this because when I opened the box, the pieces had clearly jostled around quite a bit during shipment. It appears that one of the rack bars rubbed/bumped up against on of the arms of the rack, resulting with a small scratch. I kept the rating at 5 stars becaue the scratch is not a big deal to me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quality rack, but photo is misleading - will not fit 5-50lbs rubber dumbbellls, February 6, 2010

Just got this rack and Body-Solid's 5-50 lbs rubber hex dumbbell set from Amazon. The rack is sturdy and high quality.

But beware the photos above implying that all 10 pairs of the rubber hex dumbbell sets will fit on this rack. The photos only show 9 pairs (one has been removed). If you put all 10 pairs on the rack, the bottom shelf is too short by about 2 inches, requiring the dumbbells to be slightly stacked / overlap each other.

Shame on Body-Solid for (1) not building their rack just inches wider to fit their own dumbbell set, and (2) putting out a deliberately misleading stock photo with one pair removed.

product was easy to put together and is sturdy. It holds plenty of dumbbells. The only problem with it is that the rack is too wide to hold some of the smaller neoprene weights so you have to set them sideways. If you have the metal ones, it isn't a problem.

Functional for "standard" dumbbells, but not all plastic coated, female-oriented styles. Seems to be sturdy and durable. Assembly was relatively easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gym Quality Rack For The Home, November 20, 2010

I'm always skeptical about buying items like this... sure, it LOOKS like the real deal, but when I unbox it, is it going to be a cheap piece of crap? The Body Solid GDR363 rack is the real deal and does the job with good looks and doesn't take up a lot of space.

Pros:
-very sturdy
-SUPER EASY to put together, it took me 10 minutes start to finish and no need to read instructions. It consists of 12 bolts and 6 plastic caps
-it comes with touch up paint, just in case, which I thought was a very nice gesture by the company

Cons:
- will not fit an entire 5-50lb RUBBER set, pay close attention to the picture, it's missing a pair
-If you're using cast iron dumbells, you'll probably want to buy some rubber protective strip for the rack, as it's not included. Otherwise, it's metal on metal.

2.0 out of 5 stars Among the WORST packaging I have ever seen, good job!, June 21, 2011

The shipping time was longer than usual for this product. It was the free shipping option, so normally I wouldn't mind the wait, but there was no tracking information given. Come on, its the year 2011 giving your customers a tracking number is standard practice.

The rack itself looks good, however I can't really comment on it's quality because I can't put it together without the 2 missing bolt/nut combinations. The way this product was packed shows a lack of care. Normally, nuts, bolts and other small parts are put in a plastic bag...so they don't get lost. The manufacturer of this product thought it would be good enough to loosely screw them in-place instead. The problem with that is that 3 of the nut/bolt combination came loose. Luckily one of them was still in the package. Unluckily, 2 of them fell out of a gash in the box.

Now I don't feel like dealing with getting them replaced by the manufacturer, so I'll just go buy the missing parts from the hardware store, and leave this negative review to satisfy myself.

Good job on the packaging. And by good job, I mean bad job. Bad job on the packaging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great rack!, June 29, 2010

Very sturdy and simple to assemble storage rack for your dumbbells, yoga block, pushup bars or other work out stuff that can fit on it. My 11 yr old son assembled it for me. Fits great in the garage or work out room and since all three levels are directly above/below the other, it takes up minimal space.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very sturdy and functional weight rack, June 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Body Solid GDR363 3-Tier Horizontal Dumbbell Rack (Sports)
This non-bulky and sturdy weight rack fits all of my dumbbells, including a 9 lbs. weight ball, my Reebok step, and a Bosu that I can prop up on the very top for easy access. Obviously,I do not have as many sets of dumbbells as some of the other commentators so I don't have any issues with my dumbbells (7 sets: 3, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, and 25 lbs) not fitting properly. My 3lbs are of neoprene material and do not fit, I have to stack sideways as someone else previously commented. As far as assembly, my husband put it together and didn't think it was that difficult to assemble. Highly recommend!

1.0 out of 5 stars Nightmare To Assemble, May 12, 2009

Not all of the holes on the brackets and the frame lined up, so it took a lot of hammering on the frame to force them to line up.
