The weights themselves are great. The rubber coating makes them easy to handle and they seem well made however they have a terrible smell that won't go away. The manufacturer suggests dish detergent or Windex and the smell "should subside". The dish detergent does nothing and the Windex only slightly helps. 3 months later with a lot of cleaning work they still smell up half the house. For $500 go buy some other weights and spend your time working out instead of cleaning.

These weights when delivered smell terrible. They are coated in some type of industrial rubber that makes where they are stored smell like a tire shop. Upon receipt of the weights we immediately unpacked them and put them in the basement. We found out that they had some kind of film on them and the fumes they emitted were distracting when you worked out and gave you a headache after a long period of time. We ended up taking them out to the driveway and washing them down with dish soap and a brush. After letting them air out in the shade we put them back downstairs and noticed a considerable difference. But beware the smell still exists and it is still annoying. I do not recommend this product for anything but the most highly ventilated areas.
On another note one of the ends of the Olympic bar was too small too fit the standard spring clip. I called the company and they immediately shipped new collars that use a band that is tightened with a screw. I found that these work great.

Good product, great quality, great customer service. The first bar I was delivered was defective, so I contacted the seller and they shipped out a new one, and had fedex pick up the old one. I'm very happy with my purchase!

These are excellent, As is mentioned elsewhere the smell is pretty potent, and you will want to store them somewhere that has good air circulation. The texture of the coating is not what I expected, I thought they would be more of a flat/dull black, similar to delrin, but instead it's a slick rubber.
