More About the Author

Joel Friedlander was born in the Bronx, New York. Raised in Westchester he attended school in Buffalo and Danbury, Connecticut. He is the author of "Body Types: The Enneagram of Essence Types." He has won the AIGA "50 Books of the Year Award" for his work at Aperture Publishing, and the Printing Industries of America Gold Award for his book design and production. He is the owner of Marin Bookworks of San Rafael, California. Joel is also the author of the Self-Publisher's Quick & Easy Guides, a series of subject-specific e-books that help to solve questions for self-publishers. These are available as PDF downloads and Kindle e-books.

In 2011 Joel published A Self-Publisher's Companion, Expert Advice for Authors Who Want to Publish. I read the first edition of this book and found it to be not only extraordinarily interesting but right on. There really are body types and this book makes it clear that you, your spouse, your friends and everyone is some combination of these types. It's about time science opened its eyes and stopped looking at its machines for a moment. Simply gather a hundred people together and sort them by physical attributes and you'll have an undeniable demonstration of what Joel Friedlander is talking about.

I am a psychotherapist and have studied many systems of type for doing relationship counseling. This is the best and most useful system that I have found. I use it to help clients understand the characteristics of their type, the features of significant people in their lives, and help them understand how type effects these relationships. The book is very clearly written and the author has a good sense of humor. Highly recommended.

Joel Friedlander has done his homework remarkably well. From Ancient ideas, Joel has brought to the present the personality types that makes each one of us so different. This should be a school textbook, for it is that concise and easy to follow. The Enneagram system is laid out in front of our eyes in a way we can all understand. Enneagram is a Greek word meaning something written or drawn and there are seven planetary types. The Author shows their association with our endocrine glands. This is a great book to see what type you are.
