Not as bad bad as you think,
By
This review is from: BodyRelief Foot Pads Package of 10 Patches (Health and Beauty)
I carefully read every review before buying these. I saw so many good reviews that I figured I would try them. I was worried when one of the reviewers said something about the patches being really smelly. Well, I am very sensitive to smells. I get headaches from passing people in the hallway who wear cologne. All of the products I own are fragrance-free. I clean my house with baking soda and vinegar because I can't handle the smell of "cleaners". I'm bad. So, I took the plunge anyways. First of all, when you smell the patches out of bag, it smells like a really faint pipe tobacco or something out of a wood shed. It wasn't bad, so I stuck 'em to me feet overnight. The next morning, I didn't 'spring' out bed and feel like I was 10 years younger or anything so don't think these are miracle patches. I went into the bathroom and peeled them off my feet. At this point, they smelled like 'wet' wood shed. A little stronger but not bad. Let me tell you how black they were. My husband's were even blacker. And there was this sticky molasses-colored residue on my feet. I took a shower, washed my feet with soap and water, and by the time I got out, my feet felt so much cleaner than ever before. I was shocked. It's like overnight those patches deep cleaned my pores. If you've ever had a foot bath in peppermint, it's like that. My feet smelled good, no wood smell or anything. My husband reported a slight tingling in his calf muscles. I guess they improve circulation. A couple of things to remember when trying new products is keeping an opened mind, but not too open, and follow the instructions carefully. I also had a headache one night and tried a patch on the back of my neck (tension headache). I'm sorry to report that did not work as claimed. I still had a headache in the morning and used my Head-On to get rid of it instead. I do like the patches and recommend them for anyone seeking better circulation and really clean feeling feet.

My Experience Has Been Stellar,
By George Malory (Pasadena, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: BodyRelief Foot Pads Package of 10 Patches (Health and Beauty)
I've been using footpads for over 4 years now, and I must say that the BodyRelief brand has become a fixture in my bedside table drawer. Most often, I use them for easing the kinks I get in my neck and back from sleeping on a less-than-perfect bed. I apply them directly to the spot where I'm feeling the pain for that, and the pads gradually ease out the toxins that build up around the kink (they don't "fill up" quite as much on those spots), taking the pain away as they work. My wife uses them for that, too, and loves the results, and we are both very skeptical of any new-age-sounding remedies.
We've lately found them extremely useful for detoxifying the body when we start feeling a cold coming on, too. It definitely seems to either shorten the length of a cold (or whatever) or 'nip it in the bud' before it has a chance to get hold of you. We even brought them with us on a recent ski trip (putting them on our feet overnight after skiing all day), and found that we didn't experience nearly as much soreness in our legs on the mornings after pounding the slopes all day. I noticed one of the other reviews complained about experiencing an odor after using footpads. I have noticed, from time to time, a faint smell of vinegar emanating from the pads after a night of use, and I think that one of the main ingredients in the pads is a type of tree bark used to make vinegar. That said, I've never noticed the scent stays on my skin after taking a shower or rinsing, though she did say that she was unusually sensitive to smells. I've observed that the pads seem to get blacker and wetter the more toxins are in your body, so she must've been an extreme case. In all, after trying a lot of different brands of these, my wife and I are thoroughly convinced that they work, and that this particular brand seems to be consistently the best.

Body Relief Detox Pads for muscle soreness and backache,
By Oneder Woman "Oneder Woman" (Santa Fe, NM) - See all my reviews
This review is from: BodyRelief Foot Pads Package of 10 Patches (Health and Beauty)
As a certified personal trainer and Pilates instructor, I see a lot of individuals with bad backs, in addition to the usual aches and pains. And of course, our strength and flexibility building sessions can generate new muscle soreness two or three times a week. I often recommend Body Relief detox pads to my clients ease their discomfort as they get in shape. I've been using them for years myself, and it's interesting to observe skeptics turn into true believers after just a couple uses.
I took note of one person who complained about the odor of the pads when she removed them. Believe me: what comes out of your body is what goes into your body. If you've been eating garlic, even if I don't smell it on your breath, I know from your sweat. Body toxins can have powerful odors, and my experience as a trainer suggests that if the smell was that objectionable, it was proof that she needed to use the Body Relief detox pads more often, not less.

The Best in detoxing your body.,

I have been using Kinoki Detox pads for 7 weeks and they are great. The smell isn't as strong as other detox pads. Once I remove them I wash my feet with soapy warm water and the smell was gone. I also have pretty pink feet. My feet were dark on the bottom and now they are beautiful. I went to my doctor for a check up and he ask me what was I doing different because my A1C blood count went from 8 to 6.5 which is excellent for me since I'm Diabete. Since using the patch I wake up feeling great, I eat better and my skin has improved. I started juicing all my vegetables and I juice carrots with apples and drink a glass of each every morning. I feel better everyday and recommend these patches. It took a while for the patches to lighten up but my body was so toxin from drinking, smoking and eating the wrong foods. The patches just started to get light this morning. Well I hope this help. Try it you might like it. lol

As Expected....,
By Morgan "TreeHugger" (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews

I was skeptical when I bought these, I'll admit it. Now that I've tried them, I'm not a die hard fan of them, but I'll admit, either they have a strong psychological hold on you to make you believe you feel better, or they actually work. I've been sick with a cold for about a month, and after trying everything else, a friend recommend these. so I decided, why not, I've ddone stranger things in pursuit of a cure.... I tried them, and during the night, I got up to go to the bathroom three times, which I rarely ever do. So, I figured, either I had lots of "toxins" that I got rid of, or I just really had to pee. The next morning I woke up, took off the pads and washed my feet. [the smell isn't as bad as other reviewers say it is, it smells like wood vinegar, which they clearly label as a main ingredient] I noticed my nose was running little to none, [big change] and I didn't cough up any phlegm, which I had been doing every morning in extreme anmounts this past month. I dont feel like Superman right now, but I dont feel like complete crap, which I had anticipated for today.

Really helped!,

I have chronic back pain, I put these pads on my back and they were soaked in the morning and my back felt much better. I use them whenever my back hurts. I also put them on the back of my neck when I'm about to have a migraine and it makes it so the migraine is way less painful or takes it away completely. If I use them after the migraines starts they are less effective.
I started using them on my feet and it sucks all the toxins out of my body and makes me feel healthy. Once I had an infection in my toe that had healed all swollen-like. I wore the pad over my toe one (not one the wound, but around it) and it brought the swelling down. I did it the next night again and by the next day my toe was completely better, and it had been weeks of trying to make it heal. I'm really glad I found these.

Big Time Skeptic, But these Worked!,
By
This review is from: BodyRelief Foot Pads Package of 10 Patches (Health and Beauty)
I tried these for three nights straight so far and I actually feel improvement in my sleep! I have a mattress that has been TERRIBLE lately. I desperately need to replace it and my sleep has been less than ideal because of it. I wake up at least once, sometimes twice a night because of my back pain. When I wore these pads the first night, I did notice that I was not groggy in the morning, but was still in pain during the night. The second night I continued having a non-groggy morning, but during the night I awoke feeling not as stiff. On the thrid night I actually slept completely through the night for a full 7 hours uninterrupted! I awoke feeling loose and relaxed. Not an Olympic gymnast per se, but I could hop out of bed with a little spring in my step, like I had a good massage and stretch. That was truly the first time in months!
As for the packaging, if you read the product description, they do state that a professional package is available upon request. When you order just leave the seller a message, they got right back to me immediately. Otherwise, you will get a plain package. So if you are getting this as a gift for someone, you may want to request the formal packaging. I do not believe that these detox pads will perform miracles but they definitely help. And believe me, I am the first person to tell anyone what loads of crap is out there.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: BodyRelief Foot Pads Package of 10 Patches (Health and Beauty)
I'm 61 years old, a health nut and eat very well. I was intrigued by all the ads regarding detox pads. I bought these pads over others because of the good reviews on Amazon and other sites. I ordered a months worth and followed the directions to a tee. I kept waiting to feel some change, i.e. more energy, etc. but after one month there was absolutely no change in my body at all. They were very easy to put on but in the morning it was a different story. It took a lot of scrubbing to get the smell and the adhesive off. (I would stick to the floor if I didn't remove the adhesive!) The smell was like an old musty barbecue pit. Even my sheets smelled. Actually it's the smell of wet tree bark. The pads did get wet and dark, but obviously when a part of the body is cut off from air, it will sweat in tha spot, therefore, the wet dark substance. I kept hoping through the process that I would feel something and kept a positive attitude, but, alas, the month finished with me feeling the same as in the beginning. Not worth the money I spent.

Great Relief from Body Relief,

Headaches. Back aches. Muscle aches. They come hand in hand with a 52 yr. old trying to keep up with his four grown children on the tennis courts and the ski slopes. Thanks to the Body Relief pads I feel 20 years younger. I've been using them for two years, placing them directly on the parts of my body that are hurting. They live up to their name!

no difference for me,
This review is from: BodyRelief Foot Pads Package of 10 Patches (Health and Beauty)
This didn't do anything for me either. I even seemed to wake up feeling more tired than usual, and the tape wouldn't stick to my feet.
I would say drinking herbal tea, eating lighter, and getting more exercise should work better than foot pads. Everyone is different though, so it might work for you. :) |
