5.0 out of 5 stars Saved me from taking Alieve! March 12, 2011
Size Name:36-inch Full Round|Amazon Verified Purchase
Honestly, it's a bit rediculous how much I like my new foam roller. As someone who works out regularly, I had gotten into the habit of taking two alieve several nights per week before bed as I just couldn't stand how bad my legs hurt from running. I tried stretching before and after and it just wasn't cutting it. That's when a trainer at our gym suggested I try the foam roller there. She said, "It's going to hurt, and I mean really hurt." As we got the roller out, I asked, "how do I know if I'm doing it right?" Her advice? You really can't get this wrong, just lay on it and roll back and forth where your muscles hurt. (If you need more direction, check out youtube.com as there are tons of videos on "How to use a foam roller"). After I used it, I noticed how immediately the muscles were losened up.

But for me personally, as I workout in the AM, by bedtime my legs had really started throbbing so I needed to find a foam roller that I could use at home. This particular model is WAY cheaper than any others listed on Amazon and I can tell you it's the exact same quality as what was at the gym.

Now, I use this darn thing nearly every night. I have cut back my consumption on Alieve by over 3/4 of what I was taking prior. For anyone who works out regularly, this is an absolute must.

I also bought "The Stick" and that has been a life-saver too as it's super easy to use while you're watching TV etc.

Good luck and hopefully this helps someone who wants to continue working out for the health benefits, but just can't stand how tight your muscles are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful tool for relieving back pain October 3, 2009
Size Name:36-inch Full Round
Earlier this year I make a resolution to deal effectively with the increasing amount of back and shoulder pain that I was experiencing. To this end I began getting regular manipulations at my doctor's office, started exercising and stretching more frequently (and effectively), and underwent a round of physical therapy. One of the things my physical therapist showed me was this Foam Roller. One of the problems I had was an unusual degree of stiffness in my upper spine, the result of a mild case of undiagnosed scoliosis from my childhood. One of our goals was to get some movement into my upper spine. Stretching helped to a degree, but that mainly worked with the muscles. What did the most to increase the flexibility in my spine, by far, was working with this Foam Roller. When I first started using it I was able to get only minimal movement in my spine, but after a few weeks I was able to move much more freely. And it did a great deal to minimize my upper back pain. I've continued to use it after the cessation of physical therapy and frankly I can't imagine not having one of these again.

My only complaint with the Foam Roller is its color. The white picks up dirt far too easily. I left the roller inside its original plastic covering as long as possible. I wish that I had had the option of buying one in a color other than white. I bought the Body Sport Foam Roller because that was the one that my physical therapist had to sell to me. Other than the color I've been absolutely delighted with the product. I highly recommend it for anyone who has struggle with upper back pain. I would also recommend searching the Internet for hints on how to use the roller properly. I would also discourage anyone from using a roller this size on the lower back.

2.0 out of 5 stars not built to last October 21, 2010
Size Name:36-inch Full Round|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am skinny and weigh about 110. and after having this for 6 months, it is so crushed at my head end and tail end...there has got to be foam out there that can withstand the pressure longer than 6 months. I can't imagine if more weight were on it...

5.0 out of 5 stars I feel like I have a new back! February 19, 2007
Size Name:36-inch Full Round
I was introduced to using these when training at a Pilates Studio, and I immediately had to get one to have at home. I use it almost every day, and have developed an amazing amount of strength and balance - not to mention a stronger, healthier back. It requires a little "breaking in" at first, to sort of soften it up enough to mold to your spine, but that only takes a few uses. I think everyone needs one!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed August 23, 2012
Size Name:36-inch Full Round|Amazon Verified Purchase
We were terribly disappointed with this roller. I ordered two - one for my husband and one for myself. First of all, the surface was not smooth as shown on the Amazon site but felt more like a compressed roll of bubble wrap. Secondly, we are not heavy people but when each of us put our weight in the center, the ends lifted off the floor about two inches and there was an immediate significant depression in the middle. And last but not least, when we returned the rolls we learned that the Amazon vendor would not pay for the shipping back to him, though I must say an Amazon Customer Service Rep was nice enough to give me a small credit on the shipping. Word of caution - not every vendor associated with Amazon will issue a Return Authorization label so you don't have to incur shipping charges when returning an item - be sure you inquire about that at time of ordering.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality
It came already bowed, so I tried to straighten it out. As I used it for my back exercises it became more flattened to one side. Useless for what I need to do, it needs to roll.

2.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..
The unit arrived on time but a little misshapen (not a trivial flaw for these rollers). not sure it was shipped that way or damaged but certainly could have been packed better.

I like the fact that you can get the roller in a loner size so you can work the front, sides and back of the body.
